A stage adaptation of the beloved Oscar-winning film, Once, is coming to Broadway next fall. John Tiffany is directing, and screenwriter Enda Walsh (Hunger) will write the book to accompany the songs of Glen Hansard and Markéta Irglová, who starred in the 2007 film. The musical will be workshopped this spring at the American Repertory Theater in Cambridge, Mass., where tickets will go on sale Feb. 15.

This is great news! Once is one of my favorite movies ever!
So awesome!
Not sure how I feel about this…I think “Once” is one of the best movie-musicals of all-time, but nothing about it really seems like it would work on the stage. This was a story that worked well on the screen, and I can’t see how the translation will be anywhere near as good.
I’m ready to buy tickets right this minute!!
