After all, the shaky-cam auteur behind the last two Bourne installments also helmed 2006′s tense 9/11 film United 93. Now Greengrass may be making his next movie about the final days of Martin Luther King’s life before his assassination outside of a motel in Memphis on April 4, 1968. According to New York magazine, Greengrass has penned the script for Memphis, which is based on his own research into the slain civil rights leader. Greengrass’ agents at CAA issued a “no comment” about the MLK project. Meanwhile, producer Scott Rudin told EW exclusively that he recently had conversations with Greengrass about helming his in-the-works 3-D Cleopatra epic, which would star Angelina Jolie as the Queen of the Nile.

Greengrass has made some great movies so I’m definitely intrigued.
I can’t decide how to feel about this. A thriller could cheapen King’s story, but if it’s done right it could be a great movie. And since Greengrass is responsible for the great “United 93″ I’m hoping it turns out well.
This is interesting.
Who would play Doctor King?…
Chiwetal Ejiofor would be my choice.
Such an excellent and underrated talent. He consistently pulls off convincing supporting roles and deserves to prove his mettle.
So long as it’s not Jamie Foxx or Will Smith…
Oh, excellent choice.
Tracy Morgan or Chris Tucker would be my choices.
lol Tracy Morgan could make a good spoof
King – yes, Cleopatra – no
Cleopatra doesn’t sound anything like a Greengrass film… which is why I’m slightly more interested in seeing him do that than the MLK film, which sounds like classic Greengrass.
I put the truth about NLK rub out in the book called THE TRUTH AT LAST. The feds got to much juice for a truth film. Sorry Folks. John Larry Ray
