EW has confirmed that writer Oscar-winner Eric Roth (Forrest Gump) has been brought on to do a major screenplay overhaul, and that Jim Carrey is still attached to play Ripley. (Deadline first reported the news.)
If this is all feels a bit like déjà vu, it’s probably because as far back as 2005 the blogosphere was complaining about the casting of Jim Carrey (at the time with Tim Burton attached to direct). But thanks to Carrey’s recent high marks for I Love You Philip Morris, good ratings and well-liked performance last week on Saturday Night Live, perhaps people will feel more kindly about him playing the  creator of the famous radio show, who was once so popular he purportedly received more mail than the president of the United States.

That last paragraph had 2 typos in it, you kids proof-reading your papers before turning them in?
You should have put a period after “it” and started a new sentence with “you”. You posted a run on sentence. Do you not proof-read your posts?
Since this person already posted their comment, you should’ve put “Did you not proof read your post?”
I wish they’d make it already. Jim would make a wonderful Ripley. As I have never read any of the books or anything (too creepy), I think I’ll read it once it is officially officially confirmed. I can tell it’ll b 1 of those movies with a positive message that’ll make me cry. Go Jim!
If anyone can pull this off,it’s Carrey. I look forward to this.
Great article. I can¡¯t wait to hear more about your research tool. If it is as good as your other products, then you will have another winner. Your article pretty much summed up what I have been seeing too. Great to see some hard data.
