'Hobo With a Shotgun' is now a movie with an awesome poster

hobo-shotgunI’m not someone who needs much persuading to see a film called Hobo With a Shotgun. In fact, you’d need a shotgun—and maybe a hobo—to stop me from checking out the forthcoming Rutger Hauer-starring actioner. But obviously the folks behind the movie are hoping take more at the box office than just my $11 (or $16, if they decide at the last minute to release it in 3-D. WHICH THEY DEFINITELY SHOULD!!!). To that end, they’ve just unleashed a new, ’70s-style poster which you can check out to the left and, in larger form, after the jump. I think it’s a winner, even if it is a reminder of just how many years have gone by since Hauer appeared in Blade Runner (that wrinkle-free android face, lost in time. Like tears in rain!).

Check out the poster—and the movie’s extremely violent trailer—and tell us what you think.

Is ‘Hobo with a Shotgun’ the worst movie title of all-time? Or the best?

I like that while Grindhouse wasn’t a critical success it has spawned this whole revival of 70′s schlock films.

It was critically successful, it was at the box office where the movie bombed.

so I’m assuming the MPAA hasn’t rated this sucker yet and if they do it’ll certainly get an NC-17. Good lord.

      MPAA doesn’t care about violence.

There’s real movie magic on the street. And those poor little new born babies at the beginning of the trailer deserve a hospital that can afford more than a rubbermaid tub on top of a filing cabinet.

That was one of the best things I’ve ever seen. Does it have a release date? Anyone with eyes should see this trailer.

Glad to see Rutger Hauer is working. On the strength of his appearance alone I wanted to see it I love the Death Wish feel! But after the trailer, I have decided to forego the mind staining, gratuitous gore. Movies like this prove how satanic our society has become. Garbage in garbage out. The only real losers are the babies who are going to have to live in the society that we are creating with this poison. On with the apocolypse!

Your alrtice perfectly shows what I needed to know, thanks!
