Three of Jerry Lewis’ biggest movie comedies are being remade, according to Variety. Artificial Intelligence Entertainment and Social Capital Films are developing The Bellboy, Cinderfella, and The Family Jewels. “Our goal is to reboot each picture as a stand-alone comedy franchise, drawing heavily from Lewis’ comedic genius, as well as his heart-warming storytelling,” said John Baca of Artificial Intelligence.

Interesting…no remakes of the Martin and Lewis movies?
I know that Martin & Lewis were a popular comedy duo, but I can’t name one of their movies. I think that more people, at least of my generation (born in 1966), grew up watching Jerry Lewis’s movies, but never saw one Martin & Lewis film.
My Friend Irma
My Friend Irma Goes West
Sailor Beware
At War with the Army
Artist and Models
Living it Up
Jumpin’ Jacks
Pardners
You’re Never Too Young
Hollywood or Bust
The Stooge
The Caddy (from whence we were given “That’s Amore”)
I prefer Martin & Lewis together, but I still like Lewis’ comedies and will avoid the remakes
In light of this news France declares a national holiday.
Doesn’t anyone have the capability to produce an original thought anymore?
Nope
I think there should be a film about Jerry Lewis and work with MDA. It could be a made-for-TV Hallmark film, but, I would like to see that movie.
@Melissa Agree with you. Studios shouldn’t touch the Lewis classics. I’m waiting for the remakes of the Shirley Temple movies……..not
Great to replay all Jerrys movies he is a classic, but no one should dare try and impersonate him.
Eddie Murphy has already remade “Nutty Professor” so a remake of these films is no big. ‘Sides, announcing that your doing a film and getting it made 2 different things. And who will play the leads? Ed Helms? As to Martin and Lewis remakes… Mark McGrath(?) and Ed Helms.
.
