Since becoming James Bond in 2006′s Casino Royale, Daniel Craig has starred in big-budget remakes (The Invasion), potential franchise starters (The Golden Compass), Oscar bait (Defiance), and summer tent-poles (the upcoming Cowboys & Aliens). During the same period, Eva Green, the elegant and sensuous actress who matched Craig’s 007 note for note as Vesper Lynd in Royale, has been hard to find. It’s almost Rachel McAdams post-Wedding Crashers all over again — both were overnight “It” Girls who didn’t seem so interested in the concept.
So it was a welcome surprise to see Green in the trailer for Perfect Sense, a British film that will premiere at Sundance. In the clip, she plays an epidemiologist who falls for a chef (Ewan McGregor). “There is warmth, there is hope, there is darkness, there is light” … and there is lots of crying. It doesn’t make perfect sense, although the Sundance summary helps: “The world is about to change dramatically. People across the globe begin to suffer strange symptoms, affecting the emotions, then the senses.” Oh. Okay. Give it a look:
Perplexing, right? But easy on the eyes, no? Have you seen any of Eva Green’s films since Casino Royale (Franklyn? Cracks? Womb?) Have you missed her? Are you excited to see her in Camelot? What kind of movie would you hope to see her in next?

Eva Green was also in The Golden Compass, so she’s been around.
She was in Golden Compass after Casino Royale. That would take the wind out of anyone’s sails.
She was in Golden Compass too you know!
She is gorgeous.
I don’t get it…. She looks like a little boy, just like Penelope Cruz does.
It certainly looks interesting, and I love Eva and Ewan as actors.
Jeff you’re a little wrong. After Wedding Crashers, Rachel McAdams was in The Family Stone, Married Life (an underrated ensemble with Pierce Brosnan), the Time Traveler’s Wife and Sherlock Holmes. According to IMDB there were even a few other films in the mix.
Cool trailer though…
Without love there is nothing, okay, so what’s it about???
Love?? Nothing??
Trailers should have to come with warnings, like cigarettes. WARNING: WE’RE NOT GIVING ANYTHING AWAY FOR FREE!
Have you seen any of Eva Green’s films since Casino Royale (Franklyn? Cracks? Womb?)
Nope. But I saw her in Bernardo Bertolucci’s The Dreamers before it and wouldn’t be surprised if she were simply discriminating.
Darn italics HTML. My reply beings at “Nope,” of course. And I mean “discriminating” in the sense of intelligently choosy, not prejudicial.
I literally have no idea what this movie is about? There is lots of crying, tears, and pretty people throwing things. Nice to know that Ewan McGregor is still swoon-worthy, right?
