Emma Forrest’s upcoming memoir, Your Voice in My Head, which is scheduled for a U.S. release on May 3, has been optioned by Ruby Films, the British company behind The Other Boleyn Girl and Tamara Drewe. In the book, Forrest writes about her emotional recovery from a suicide attempt and her relationship with a boyfriend who more than resembles her real-life ex, Colin Farrell. “Emma is a terrifically good writer who can conjure that rare mixture of laughter and poignancy so well, and this book will translate into a brilliant movie,” says Ruby executive Alison Owen. “It is a Heartburn for the Knocked Up generation.” Deadline initially reported the deal.
