'Scream 4': Wes Craven confirms rumors of reshoots via Twitter

Scream-4Image Credit: Gemma La ManaThe Internet was abuzz with rumors that the Scream 4 crew would be reuniting in Michigan for additional shooting and, according to director Wes Craven, the whispers are true. Craven took to his Twitter page to announce that he was, “In Michigan getting you more to #SCREAM 4.” Then, he tweeted a photo of co-star Alison Brie, who plays Sidney Prescott’s (Neve Campbell) book publicist. So it appears the additional shooting revolves around her character and, based on the trailer (see below), her attack in a parking garage. Meanwhile, actress Aimee Teegarden (Friday Night Lights) also tweeted that she was back in Michigan for more Scream 4 production (As of press time, the rep for The Weinstein Company had not yet returned EW’s request for comment.).

In other Scream 4 news, check out the new poster for the horror flick, out April 15.

Don’t tell me, the book publicist is the killer!

Word got out that Sidney gets killed right away, so I guess that ruins the only surprise in the movie. My guess is that they will change that now…. Yeah, I wouldn’t recommend anyone getting excited over this mess..

I loved the first two movies, the third stunk. I can’t imagine this one being any good. I checked out long ago.

I assumed when I heard she was coming back that she would get killed fist, ala Jamie Lee Curtis in Halloween resurrection. Can’t wait, I’ll tell you all about it Rusty since apparently your not even going to give it a shot.

Yeah, that’s totally not true. If you watched the trailer, Sidney has scenes all throughout in multiple locations and outfits. She’s going to be in a good portion of the movie.

I’m doubtful. Did you hear the whole monologue in the trailer about third act bloodbath royalty? I wouldnt be surprised if she dies at the end to officially pass the torch to Emma Roberts, but not at the beginning.

For whatever it’s worth, it looks like the character who crashes onto the top of the van at 2:15 in the trailer is wearing the same thing that Brie is wearing.

Can’t help but wonder if they’re doing any major changes to get her back for reshoots when they’re so relatively close to their release date.

    What a trailer!

    [@ Rust,

I can’t imagine Sidney slashed off in the beginning. That would be a huge mistake, IMO.]

Anyway, I like the way Craven plays with the audience, manipulating the so-called “rules” via one of his characters (as he did via Jamie Kennedy’s in the trilogy). I like how he’s kept us suspended.

I hope they don’t kill off GAIL !!!

Sid’s definitley not the first death. She’s in too many different scenes in the preview.

Leave it to the Weinsteins to mess up a good movie. They screwed with Wes Cravens script on Cursed. That movie was good till they stuck their nose into it. By the way they let Kevin Williamson go and brought in the chumps that wrote Scream 3. Yea the worst film in the series.

    • Jon

John, you sound paranoid and deluded. It was Kevin Williamson’s script on “Cursed” — Wes didn’t write it. And it’s doubtful the Weinsteins would fire him off a project. There were no “chumps” (plural) on “Scream 3″ — there was one guy, Ehren Kruger, who (in my opinion) could write circles around Kevin Williamson any day.

“Ehren Kruger, who (in my opinion) could write circles around Kevin Williamson any day.”

That may be, but Scream 3 still sucked.
