Did you walk away from yesterday’s Hop trailer feeling somehow unfulfilled? Was it all that you’d hoped for, yet you were left craving more Russell Brand? You’re in luck, because Warner Bros. just released the trailer for Arthur, a retelling of the 1981 comedy classic starring Brand as the titular beacon of drunken debauchery. Contained in this trailer are the following: a musical evolution from David Bowie’s ‘Rebel, Rebel’ to ‘Pressure,’ a saucier than usual Jennifer Garner, the most awesome solar system-themed mobile ever built for an adult sized bed, and Luis Guzman in a Robin suit that hugs him in all the right wrong places. Also, don’t ask Helen Mirren to hang out, but she will tuck you in at night. Looks a LOT better than I thought it would.
But still disappointed that this isn’t a movie version about the aardvark. I won’t be satisfied until their is an epic movie featuring that Arthur, Clifford the big red dog, and Martha the talking dog going on a big adventure/fighting ninja zombies or something equally epic.
Another Russel Brand Bomb(TM)
This looks horrible. Russell Brand isn’t funny and what pictures of Helen Mirren are being held ransom for her to make this stink.
This looks just terrible. Mirren is going to regret this train wreck.
Didn’t know Jennifer Garner was in this, that decreases my interest a fair bit.
painful. why must they mess with a good thing? are there really no more original ideas?
That actually looks a lot better than I first thought it would be too. I haven’t really seen the original so I can’t compare. I just remember seeing some of it when my Dad would watch it airing on TV. This trailer isn’t that bad and I would possibly watch this. Just got to wait for reviews.
laughed at least five times out loud. I love Russel Brand, and I know most people do not like him in the least, but this looks really funny.
That was brilliant !! as I knew it would be … Russell just shines, and with Helen to play against it works sooo well. Can’t wait to see it :~) I think Dudley would be proud
This isn’t the original. Yuck.
I’d let him get away, too.
Thanks for stiarntg the ball rolling with this insight.
Johnny Depp has been playing Arthur’s character in the Pirates of the Caribbean movies for the last few years. Think about it.
agreed
Being a fan of the Original and have seeing it over 150 times since high school, I can’t wait! It’s a bit different but no one can replace Dudley. Russel is a good choice though he is much taller and can pull off the “that’s easy for you to say…you don’t have 50 pairs of short pants hanging in your closet!”
This looks like a bomb of the first magnitude compared to the original. The stars shrink in comparison to Dudley Moore, Sir John Geilgud and Liza Minelli. Go rent the original if you have never seen it. You will be lots happier!

Great article. I can¡¯t wait to hear more about your research tool. If it is as good as your other products, then you will have another winner. Your article pretty much summed up what I have been seeing too. Great to see some hard data.
