EW has confirmed Ryan Gosling is close to finalizing a deal with Warner Bros. for a remake of the 1976 cult classic Logan’s Run, re-teaming with the Danish director of Gosling’s upcoming thriller Drive, Nicolas Winding Refn. The original film, based on the novel by William F. Nolan and George Clayton Johnson, depicts a dystopian world which prevents overpopulation by killing everyone who reaches the age of 30. Gosling would play the part of Logan 5 (first portrayed by Michael York). The remake has famously passed through the hands of several directors, from Bryan Singer to TRON: Legacy‘s Joseph Kosinski.

Sounds intriguing! He’s one of my favorite actors. I’m just happy to see him working more.
Wasn’t this already remade a few years ago? Wasnt it called The Island with Ewan Mcgregor and ScarJo? That awful Michael Bay film?
The Island was a good film, but if it is to be classed as a remake, the story is much closer to ‘Parts: The Clonus Horror’ directed by Robert Fiveson. The Island is a good film, I really liked it, but it is about 99% the same story as CLONUS which I also really liked.
She was the one who opened a bottle of wine. She was the one who turned down the lights. She was the one who wanted to rent Logan’s Run, the sexiest movie ever!

Hello everyone
First of all sorry that I write in this topic but I have some technical problem with the use of this forum. When I’m trying to enter in the appropriate topic, I received a 404 error It’s about the only topic in which I was able to enter. Do you have the same problems? What’s going on?
I hope they remain true to the original story and cast people who can actually act.
You do remember that Farah Fawcett was in the original right?
I was so young when I saw this movie. I remember how wild Washington DC looked all over grown with vines. And the one old man.
Wow, this might be a really good remake with todays technology!!
This is actuallya remake I can say is worth making.
I’m usually against remakes but this is one movie that actually needs to be remade. Hopefully it will not be like Clash of the Titans where it needed to be remade and was done very very badly
I agree COMPLETELY Nerwen! I hope that it is done right!
Hmmmm… a remake I might WANT???? to see…
The original ending was filmed here in Fort Worth at the Water Gardens!
the original creeped me out when I was a kid. I remember Farrah Fawcett being in it, and Jenny Agutter. I hope they don’t sterilize–it was a pretty gritty film
I saw Logan’s Run in July 1976. Awesome movie.
Gosling is a good choice for Logan.
Jessica will always be Jenny Agutter, but if they choose Emma Watson, I’d be ok with that.
For the old man, I’d pick Anthony Hopkins.
For Box, I’d choose Morgan Freeman.
So is this a remake of the movie or an actual filming of the novel. Because they were quite different.
Francis is a good guy (secretly), the habitat isn’t destroyed and Sanctuary isn’t the outside world but a space station near Mars.
Ew. Not a fan of Gosling, but I am a fan of Logan’s Run. I just hope they rewrite the screenplay to be much more like the original novel.
I agree with most of you, this is a film in need of a remake. I’m actually looking forward to it
that is so cool
