Summit Entertainment is in talks with their star scribe, Melissa Rosenberg — who has written all five of the Twilight scripts — to work on their long-planned Highlander reboot. For anyone who doesn’t remember the 1986 fantasy action film starring Christopher Lambert, Sean Connery, Clancy Brown, and Roxanne Hart, Highlander is about the battle throughout the ages between immortal warriors (and is the movie that gave birth to a franchise that included sequels and TV spin-offs). Variety reports that the new film will expand on the original premise, and will center on Scot Connor MacLeod confronting a murderous barbarian. Here’s hoping Christopher Lambert gets to make a cameo appearance.

It’s going to be tough to remake a movie that won the Oscar for best movie ever made.
Highlander was excellent. The sequels were beyond awful. I’d rather Sean Connery get the cameo rather than Christopher Lambert.
I’ve officially retired.
Highlander was nearly perfect and is one of a few movies that doesn’t need to be remade.
If the well must be visited again, why not simultaneously feed off the 80′s craze and make a prequel to the first movie, set partially in the early 80′s?

I’m glad Highlander is getting a remake, but not sure about Summit and Rosenberg, sure she wrote for Dexter but she also wrote Twilight and the first Step Up movies.
Do Outlander instead
I would like to see a remake but not by any one who has done twilight. They will just make it all fluffy and glittery just like their sparkely vampires. I’ve been a fan of highlander for a long time if Melissa Rosenberg writes it, I will hate it forever
There can be only one! And it was Duncan! I thoroughly enjoyed watching him take Connor’s head in Endgame. But if we are going to do this put Adrian Paul in instead of Christopher Lambert. He can play Ramirez. I mean, I love Connery but he has no business wielding a katana.
And get Ray Park (Darth Maul, Snake Eyes) as Connor. Besides knowing his way around a Katana he’s Scottish, like MacLeod.
The 1st highlander was fantastic. the tv show was really good. altho the raven was little poor. I have bin a true highlander fan from the 1st movie, but omg a remake would be cool, but twilight was pants.
I say get pete jackson for the remake.

Remake It! Better sword play, special effects, and more detail to character development will make a GOOD movie GREAT!
