The new trailer for the Russell Brand-starring remake of Arthur plays better than the first one, in my opinion. It keeps the best bits (i.e. his bedtime ritual, his magnet one-liner), and adds in some new ones (like him working at a candy store underneath John Hodgman). It also focuses more on the woman he really loves (Greta Gerwig) than the one he’s supposed to marry to keep his fortune (Jennifer Garner), which gives nanny Helen Mirren’s line to his mother, “He’s stronger than you think,” more meaning. Weak. Dudley Moore was genius. He got drunk all day to deal with an empty world. This Arthur is just a little kid.
Wow, could the producers make him any more fugly?
I just don’t know about this one…..
Predictable. Safe. Dull. Can’t imagine paying to see it. And times have changed. Is it really amusing watching someone heavy into substance abuse? Yawn.

This is the worst review ever. Your writer is an idiot.
We already have a real life version of this. It’s called Charlie Sheen.
Your hack of a writer may be from New York City, but he or she can’t write worth a damn. Fire that person. This person wouldn’t know “Arthur” if he bit his / her leg.
This kind of thing happens with every remake. The fact of the matter is the old Arthur was great and it would be MORE offensive if they attempted to do a shot for shot remake of the original movie. For that reason, I agree with the writer in that, for what this is, it looks quite good.
Want to see it…
I recently turned 50, and you know you’re getting old when the most memorable movies of your youth – I was only 20 years old in 1981 – are being remade in Hollywood.
The original Arthur with Dudley Moore, Liza Minnelli, and the legendary Sir John Gielgud was a true gem with all that drinking, smoking, and cussing all wrapped up into a love story.
Because I love the story I’ll give this new version a chance but I have to warn that I introduced my teenage children to the original Arthur a few years ago when it was on one of the cable movie channels and they loved it, so they’ll be watching with a critical eye as well.
Great article. I can¡¯t wait to hear more about your research tool. If it is as good as your other products, then you will have another winner. Your article pretty much summed up what I have been seeing too. Great to see some hard data.
You¡are¡amazing! This weblog is so great. I really hope a lot more people read this and get what you are saying, ¡¯cause let me tell you, it¡¯s critical stuff. I never would have thought about it this way unless I would run into your web site. Thanks for sharing it. I hope you¡¯ve excellent achievement.
