Even after the fuller glimpse at an still-too-brief teaser of Super 8 debuted at the Super Bowl, details on the J.J. Abrams/Steven Spielberg film have remained scarce. But now we’ve got an official synopsis of the film which will be in theaters June 10:
“In the summer of 1979, a group of friends in a small Ohio town witness a catastrophic train crash while making a super 8 movie and soon suspect that it was not an accident. Shortly after, unusual disappearances and inexplicable events begin to take place in town, and the local Deputy tries to uncover the truth — something more terrifying than any of them could have imagined.”
The film starts Kyle Chandler, Elle Fanning, Joel Courtney, Gabriel Basso, Noah Emmerich, Ron Eldard, Riley Griffiths, Ryan Lee and Zach Mills.

What Ohio town?
I went to Wright State, right next to Wright Patterson AFB and I’m dying to find out where they’ve set the film. Looking at the town scenes, it looks a bit like Fairborn.
Either way, I want to see this!
The trailer is beautiful, intriguing and filled with my favorite person to see on my screen – COACH TAYLOR!

They filmed the movie in the town I live in….the name they use in the film is Lillian, Ohio but, it was actually filmed in Weirton, WV.
the trailer was freaking epic.
E.T, The Goonies, Close Encounters and Cloverfield all rolled into one.
