For fans of Saturday Night Live‘s Bill Hader who rejoiced at the Internet rumors that he was in the mix to star in Ghostbusters 3, there’s some good news and bad news. First the bad news: Hader has not been approached by anyone involved with the supernatural sequel. “I read about that on the Internet just like everybody else,” Hader told EW last night at the premiere of Paul, in which he plays a government agent on the trail of the titular alien, voiced by Seth Rogen. “I don’t know where that [rumor] came from. I have not gotten a call. I don’t know anything about the plot. I was very flattered to have people talking about me online in conjunction with that project. I love the Ghostbusters franchise and was so excited to hear there might be another one.”
The good news? Well, he’s game… and available. Asked whether he’d be interested in fighting slime, Hader left no doubt. “In a heartbeat. Oh my god. Are you kidding? Do you have to even ask? It’s f—ing Ghostbusters. Classic. And if the rumors on the Internet are true that it would start shooting this summer, I would like to remind everyone that I am available, as that will be during my hiatus.”

Agreed. Hader already has a fine film career going, and Sudeikis looks to be on the verge with Hall Pass. Andy Samberg is wisely confining his antics to TV and the internet it seems. Good for him.

BTW Judo Thong, unfunny is a matter of opinion. I have enjoyed Steve Carell’s movies-Get Smart was very good in fact-and Tina Fey the same. There are plenty of us for whom their humor hits home on a regular basis.
Neither. I would like to see SNL wipe the slate fresh, and start over with a whole new group of fresh comedians. Even amateurs would be better than this!
Uh Andy Samberg alkready failed at a film career. Remember Hot Rod. Which I actually thought was a very funny movie but was a box office disaster. What Up with That should be made into a film.

Hader is great on SNL and also in supporting roles in movies. I’m not sure he can carry a film on his own, but as a supporting player he’s great.

Hader has ALWAYS reminded me of Dan Aykroyd, so this seems like a natural fit to me.

My #1 Favorite Actress was sitting next with Bill Hader when Bill said some Awesome News about GB3. Sigourney was Smiling!!! It’s Going to Happen Finally! We’re wating for Bill to read the Script because Bill Murray has a Comic Role of a LifeTime for GB3! Dan Aykroyd has said that Many Times along with Ivan Reitman!!! We GB Fans just need to be a little more Patient because it will Pay Off when Bill Murray Smiles on the GB3 Script after he reads it because he will say Something because Murray said on Howard Stern that Ivan wants a GB3 and Bill Murray said that he Owe’s Ivan!
