The Lincoln Lawyer, the movie adaptation of Michael Connelly’s bestselling courtroom thriller starring Matthew McConaughey as defense attorney Mickey Haller, hits theaters tomorrow. In anticipation of that, we’ve got an exclusive video of McConaughey and Connelly discussing the material and what drew the Shirtless Wonder to the character of a street-wise lawyer—at the defense table used in the film, no less. Check it out:
Connelly’s latest Haller book, The Fifth Witness, releases April 5.

Just re-read the book and am looking forward to see how they adapt it to film. Michael Connelly is one of my favorite crime writers.
It was a fantastic book and I hope the movie does it justice. It looks really good! Michael Connelly is one of the best authors around!
I read an piece on Huffington Post, Michael Connelly said Matt did a scene where “he got it”. He got the essense of the character and trial scenes. It must be a great feeling to an author that the actor and/or movie captures the authors image of character, scenes, etc.
I look forward to this movie and reading more Michael Connelly too. He can’t write fast enough now.
I’m glad to see that McConaughey is doing more than those stupid romcoms. I thought he was very good in A Time to Kill but after that he went off track.
I love Michael Connelly but for some reason I couldn’t get into this book. I will have to try again. What I want to see is a film about Harry Bosch. He is by far one of the best mystery characters that Connelly has ever conceived.
Just finished the book and it had me guessing all the way to the end. Great read, and hopefully it will be a better then good movie.
Director Ewing Miles (Lucky) Brown says Sam Botta has lost 70 lbs for the show “Live Fearless with Sam Botta” in pre-production at Movie Tech Studios Hollywood.
It’s too bad that author isn’t a lawyer. He never even went to law school.
