Eat your heart out, Ponce de León: The new trailer for Pir4tes of the C4ribbe4n: On Str4nger Tides offers an extended look at the film’s plot, a race to discover the mythical Fountain of Youth. We also get to see a lot more of Blackbeard, played by Ian McShane, who has apparently taken over Captain Sparrow’s beloved Black Pearl and turned it into some sort of living ship, Event Horizon-style. I love Keith Richards’ comment about his face and the Fountain of Youth at the end.
Well at the very least this one looks like it has a more focused plot than either of the two previous sequels. (That’s the sound of me getting sucked back in again.)
It actually looks pretty good.
I have no idea where they filmed this, but I enjoyed how the beach at :59 looked just like the place where Desmond accidentally killed Kelvin Inman…
But anyways, I don’t care what kind of crap the last movie was. Anti-intellectual as this sounds, sometimes you just want to sit back and be visually and aurally stunned, and these movies have killer scenery and a fantastic score. I will be there! (But, um, not in 3D. POTC ain’t worth that price to me.)
You’re probably right about the beach. I know that a lot of the beach scenes were filmed on the Na Pali coast of Kauai, so the scene you’re talking about is probably from Oahu, right next door.
the scene where they are walking on a cliff reminds me of lost. was this shot in hawaii
This trailer has excellent dialogue. The writer of this article has, unfortunately, a Napoleon complex.
I know they filmed a lot of scenes in Puerto Rico and also Hawaii.
Jack Sparrow is a running sore, running from himself and society. Yet his scab will heal us all.

the mermaids look pretty wicked. I just might actually see this- thank goodness orlando+keira not in it. such a boring storyline they had.
This movie should not have been made…neither should any of the movies after the 1st.

This movie is going to be absolutely amazing!!! And I am so excited because Lt. Groves is going to be in the film!! He is now my 1st favorite character after Norrington was murdered!!! ;(
