The Katherine Heigl vehicle One for the Money, which was originally slated for release this summer, has been pushed back to early 2012. Lionsgate confirms that the comedy thriller, based on the bestselling Janet Evanovich novels about gutsy, bounty-hunting bail bondswoman Stephanie Plum, will now be released on Jan. 27, 2012. Earlier this month, the film, which is directed by Julie Anne Robinson (The Last Song), moved from its original July 8, 2011 release up to June 3, only to be taken out of the summer schedule entirely.

How Janet Evanovich broke through

ouch…January is dumping ground
not really… first week is dumping ground but in the last few years big releases have occurred there… paul blart, green hornet, cloverfield, 27 dresses, book of eli and no strings attached… now i’m not saying these are good movies but they opened well and made money all doing like 70-100 million
but agree her value is dropping out of summer… it’s classic… tv actor with some success in movies dumps show for big movie career then that fades fast and they got nothing and return to tv. david caruso shelley long are the king and queen
it is being dumped, there was 2 test screenings in the past 2 weeks…LG saw the results and cut their losses
You were kind of a jerk to Commissioner Gordon, Harv.
Poor Heigl. Moving this to the dump in January is a bad sign.
I think this will be perfect for a January release. It definitely will appeal to the targeted audience and who knows? There may be no other female skewing films opening around that time period. I think it was a good decision to move it that way it doesn’t get crushed by summer tentpole action films.
That girl has the absolute WORST taste in movie scripts. This one sounds like a loser, too (especially since it has been pushed back).
Ah yes, the January dumping ground…exactly where Heigl belongs.
This sucks…makes me think they ruined the movie. The books are fun…not great, but good reads if you just want to sit down for some funny, sexy stuff. I wasn’t happy from the beginning with their choice of Ranger, now I’m worried that they botched the whole thing.
Agreed. I enjoy the books and am concerned about the movie.
I second that, the books were amazing. The movie must stick to this.
I hate the actor playing Morelli.
Any movie Heigl is in is guaranteed to be god-awful. She needs to take a chance and do something completely unexpected or just go away. What’s the point in making these crappy movies year after year? And yes, if it got moved to January, it’s a crappy movie.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA SUCK IT KATEY HEIGL
Hah hah hah, couldn’t have happened to a better so-called actress.
Yeah, I was none too pleased with her as Stephanie Plum, and now I’m worried for the whole thing. Recast and start over, please. The books deserve better treatment than this!
Hey, I found where all the haters hang out.
Katherine Heigl is a good actress, but she choses the worst roles.
This stinks because it makes me think that the movie isn’t going to be any good! I thought that the books are light enough that Heigl doesn’t have to stretch beyond what we’ve seen she can do and it would be totally appropriate!
I think the movie could be really fun, so I’m anxious to see a preview.
(comedy + thriller + katherine heigel)/(release date change * potential loss) = direct to dvd suckage.
Sounds more like straight to DVD,
JMO!!!!
