Alexandre Dumas was a master of French literature, a prolific author who penned at least two monumental classics, and one of the most influential individuals of mixed-raced ancestry of his time. Paul W.S. Anderson directed Mortal Kombat and Resident Evil. It’s a match made in heaven! There has already been approximately one adaptation of The Three Musketeers for each of the book’s ~700 pages — and that’s not even including Wishbone — but Anderson clearly hopes to bring his own personal action-packed, people-sliding-on-their-knees-and-ducking-backwards-while-shooting style of filmmaking to the classic tale of Athos, Porthos, Aramis, and d’Artagnan. Orlando Bloom, Anderson’s wife Milla Jovovich, and Matthew Macfadyen all star, while Christoph Waltz continues his unending streak of villainy as Cardinal Richelieu. Check it out below:
What do you think? Are you excited for a blockbuster version of the classic tale, or is this targeted towards the people who would mispronounce Dumas just for a cheap laugh? (Like me.)

‘Three Musketeers,’ two movies, one to be directed by Doug Liman

Count me in the excited column. Love the Three Musketeers legend and this looks like crazy, goofy fun. Plus, Matthew Macfadyen’s voice makes my toes curl.
agreed on MM’s voice… YUM.
Count me in Matthew’s voice is pretty drool worthy. And this reminds me of Pirates of the Caribbean a little.
I normally don’t like with wholw remake thing, but this looks goooood!
Thumbs up for the “Wishbone” reference!
The slow-mo shots of women in period clothing being action heroines just seems wrong.
This makes Clash of the Titans look good, and Clash of the Titans was awful.
Looks like Pirates of the Caribbean on land.
Looks good but “the coming apocalypse” as a line? Really?
So excited about this one!!!!!!
Wasn’t Orlando Bloom trying to get away from the whole swashbuckling thing? Usually I like this stuff but this might be pretty awful…
i love logan lerman. and even though that hair is really turning me off, im in.
WTF? Flying ships?, Ninja moves?. At least the crappy Chris O’Donnell/Charlie Sheen/Kiefer Sutherland version had Oliver Platt, Rebecca De Mornay & Tim Curry making it campy fun.
yay, col. landa as red riding hood with a saber
I’ve been looking forward to this movie for a while and this trailer only adds to the excitement! Looks amazing!!!
I SAW THE LAST VERSION WHEN IT CAME OUT IN 1993 BUT I THINK THIS NEW VERSION IS GONA BE GOOD AND AMAZING PERFECT CAST AMAZING SPECIAL AFFECT’S I CANT WAIT TO SEE IT!
This just looks awful – is it based on a graphic novel version of the book like Guy Ritchie’s “Sherlock” debacle?
Ick. This just looks ick.
