Dave Franco is going back to school — but not to pursue a Ph.D in literature like his multi-tasking older brother, James. EW has confirmed that the younger Franco is joining the big-screen reboot of the 1980s TV series 21 Jump Street, playing a popular high school student who also happens to be a villainous drug dealer. Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum are set to co-star in the movie as narcotics officers who go undercover as teenagers in a high school. Rumors have circulated for a long time that Johnny Depp, who was vaulted to teen idoldom on the original 21 Jump Street, might make a cameo in the movie, which begins shooting later this month. Last year, Depp told EW he was open to the idea: ”I’m hoping they’ll let me do a cameo,” he said, adding with a laugh, “Someone will say, ‘Whatever happened to Tom Hanson?’ and they’ll find me somewhere hoarding jars of peanut butter and shaking in my underpants.” But while a source close to the production says they would love the rumors to be true — and, according to Deadline, a day has been set aside in the production schedule for a potential Depp cameo — there’s still no official word on whether it will actually happen, with or without the peanut butter.

I hope from now on, Johnny Depp will play more straight, normal, “cool” characters from now on and do more dramas.
He tried that in the nineties, it didn’t work out as well as what he’s doing now. I say let him do what feels good to him.
A Depp cameo sounds expensive.
Depp is a very expensive actor. That being said, he has a bond with “21 Jump Street” since the show launched his acting career. I’m sure he will do the cameo at a discounted rate.
this is amazing news. i love the franco brothers and fave would be an amazing addition to this “remake”. also i think its absolutely amazing that depp would want to do a cameo, when everyone knows how he felt about the show back when he was a part of it, also his idea would be seriously cool. tom hansen hoarding jars of peanut butter heheheheh
I’d prefer him running a bowling alley with a bad cop pun as the name. That would be pretty authentic Tom Hanson.
Hi Kim, thank you for contacting us. Vince’s will be ceslod on December 25th and 26th. We reopen on December 27th at our regular hours. You can find our hours on the location/hours tab on our website. Thanks and Happy Holidays!
Attention of Brian.I have been shopping at Vinces since it was lttliae wooden hut! I live just along Mount Albert Road and visit at least 4 times a week.I wish to protest at the decision to make the South entrance,’entrance only’. It is basically cutting off a great deal of the parking lot and causing a lot of seniors who try to patk close to the entrance to have to walk out the northern entrance and then struggle with their groceries in the present winter weather to their cars.It is inconvenient, unfathomable and significantly reduces the pleasure of shopping at Vinces.I was in today and because of this policy I saw at least three couples in their seventies having to turn back then push their trolleys through the snow and slush to their cars. Please reassess this policy.Keith Phillips
I can’t see Johnny Depp doing a cameo, he’s always been so vocal about the show. I have to say that it does drive me crazy when he bad mouths 21 Jump St, he wouldn’t be where he is now without it! Not sure about the casting, I’ll be curious when it comes out but I think I’ll stick to my DVD’s of the original!
Could Hollywood just stop turning every old TV show into a movie? No wonder the box office is in the toilet.
Just touhght you should know that when I clicked on the map for the Uxbridge store location it took me to map quest and the directions were for your Bloor Street store.
