After a decade of magic, mystery, and an ever-more-monochromatic color scheme, the Harry Potter movie franchise comes to an end this week with the release of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows–Part 2, surely the most anticipated octoquel in history. (Sorry, First Contact!) Last night, the film had its US premiere at Lincoln Center in New York, and EW Managing Editor Jess Cagle was on hand to welcome the Potter cast and crew. Check out exclusive video of the red carpet, including Potter producer David Heyman (who regales the crowd with the real-life magical tale of his discovery of Daniel Radcliffe), supporting players like Tom Felton and Matthew Lewis (Neville Longbottom, who looks about seven-feet-tall in real-life), and of course the central trio: Rupert Grint, Daniel Radcliffe, and Emma Watson.

pretty sure he called daniel, david… way to go.
I heard that too!
I think he actually called him ‘Danny’
Did he call Daniel, David? Or is my hearing bad?
Yep, he said David. Duh.
Jess, Jess, Jess…you had 10 years to learn the lad’s name. It’s Daniel, not David. (sigh)
Also referred to “all 7 films.” I’m sure there are so may interviewers who are HP freaks, and they pick this guy…
I am way too old to be so in love with Emma Watson. But she’s just so damned gorgeous!
And im way too straight to be in love with her, but hey, we cant help ourselves.
The end is near. Two days! Emma Watson is right, we Americans are much louder than the reserved Brits (of course she said is nicer). Thanks for making an 8th movie. I know people think it was about money, but I like to think it was to do the best by the last book, that it really was for the fans.
who cares amy. we brits are more refine and they are coming on home to us in the end. i was at the premiere in london i waited outside for days with hundreds of others and even managed an autograph from my dream man Rupert Grint. Don’t say that is not dedication we screamed and yelled and showed our love. Emma can bash all she wants but JK Rowling adores here UK fans and that is all that matters. Her dream came to life and the woman deserves all the success she gets.
*her uk fans*
she said nothing about brits not being dedicated because they’re more reserved.
pretty sure Emma didn’t ‘bash’ UK fans…
Wow, defensive. All Emma said was that Americans are definitely more vocal than the British, so she prefers our reception. After all, who wouldn’t prefer “THAT WAS AWESOME!” over “That was pretty good”? There really is no need for you to put UK fans and US fans against one another. We’re all fans of the series, and that’s the bottom line.
I’ve been surfing on-line treager than 3 hours these days, but I by no means found any attention-grabbing article like yours. It’s pretty value enough for me. Personally, if all webmasters and bloggers made good content as you did, the net can be a lot more useful than ever before. Perfection of moral virtue does not wholly take away the passions, but regulates them. by Saint Thomas Aquinas.
Get a grip, Marie. She didn’t bash the Brits. And it wasn’t just Emma who made the comparison between the British and American audiences. Others from the HP films made the same comparisons while on the red carpet. So, no one was bashing the UK fans.
marie, amy isn’t taking a dig at brits. she’s not saying americans are better. it’s pretty much a cultural fact that americans are more loud and rambunctious than brits and she’s only commenting on it. don’t get your knickers in a twist
Matthew Harris – wow shocking at the transformation! Can’t believe it’s over (although I’m watching the movie this Sunday) – an end of an era.
Matthew Lewis
Looks like he could play Clive Owens’ son!
I was there last night. The movie was fantastic! And those actors are the nicest people.
That dress that Emma is wearing is awful.
Not at all.
agreed. she looks good in everything with this being the exception. she looks like a witch.
Looks like she has “Smokey Eyes” by Carmindy.
Right?! I usually find her outfits adorable, but it looks like they didn’t finish the top of this one or something weird. Oh well, she’s still pretty gorgeous.
aww Rupert is so adorable here. He looked like he was l about to choke up.
Emma never bashed UK fans. All she did was comment on the obvious cultural fact that Americans are more vocal and energized than Brits when it comes to these kinds of things.
Also I thought Emma looked gorgeous, Dan very handsome and Rupert is so sweet in this video. Makes me want to cry.
Nobody cares about these talentless queers.
Interesting video !!Ib4m a personal naeitrr myself and Ib4ve been thinking about the same ideas itb4s fun to work toward optimizing your training. How may days? How much strength? How much DE? how much endurance? How much Metcon?I currently have a few customers with goals trying to improve their running and cross country skiing. Several of my female clients have PRb4d over 200 i Deadlift for example even though they focus on endurance.
Oh man, when did Matthew Lewis become such a fox? I had to go look up how old he is to make sure it’s okay for me to say that lol.
Seriously! I know it’s been said in interviews that they padded his costume, made him wear shoes that were a few sizes too big, and put stuff behind his ears to make them stick out. But I’d never seen him look like himself before until pics from the London premiere. The girl who plays Luna is also better looking in real life than in the movie, I think.
*by look like himself I mean look hot. The blog Go Fug Yourself did a post on him from the London premiere and he looks really good.
Tom Felton…wayyy cuter than Draco Malfoy.
Is that Jay Manuel in the background on the left @2:12?
