Paramount Pictures has announced that Captain America: The First Avenger will open at Comic-Con (or rather, across the street from Comic-Con) this Thursday, July 21, one day before its Friday opening. The film’s first screening will be at noon at the UA Horton Plaza theater, although there will be a 10 a.m. screening for fans, many of whom will presumably be dressed in red, white, and blue (although if anyone dresses as U.S. Agent, you’re a total nerd and I love you). The studio also promises various Captain America-themed festivities throughout the day, including “USO-costumed women … standing at the American Flag Pole in the Horton Plaza passing out free tickets.” (Shades of “Living in America“!) Showtimes are available to purchase online, or at least they were when Paramount and Marvel sent out the press release, so if you’re reading this sentence it’s probably too late.

I”m totally with you on U.S.Agent! Avengers West Coast Forever!!! ha ha ha
Very nice McProphet. I wish you would have referenced Force Works to show just how nerdy you really were.
I tried to get tickets to Comic Con but that damn website stopped me.
I wasn’t that into “Force Works,” but I did unfortunately collect the entire run of “Fantastic Force,” and I’ll have that on my conscience forever.
America loves Cap
I hate you and LOL, Ryan.
Oh come on, that was funny. Why do you hate me?
Chris Evans needs to drop a pair before getting a lead gig, especially for a superhero movie.
Necro, YOU need to drop a pair before you set foot outside your parents’ house. Just sayin’.
Love his ‘Blue Steel’ look!
Chris Evans IS Mr. America. This movie is going to kick @$$. While all the people are seeing this at Comic Con, the rest of us will be seeing this in a real movie theatre.
I agree that the movie is going to be good. Let the haters hate.
I know they chose San Diego because of Comic-Con but its also great its in a city that’s actually pro-America, unlike Detroit or Oakland.
I’m from San Diego and your comment is ridiculous and ignorant. No U.S. city is more pro-America than the other.
