Posters for Hunger Games will soon be popping up in your local movie theaters, but Lionsgate has already released a special “motion poster” that features Katniss’s mockingjay pin engulfed in crackling flames. Not only is the dynamic poster cool — I’ve been basking in its warm glow for a good 20 minutes — but the Obi-Wan-esque tagline and the Precious-like forged “ring” conjures up at least two classic blockbuster franchises.
This weekend, fans can collect limited edition Hunger Games mini posters at select movie theaters across the country, and be sure to enter the Ultimate Hunger Games Fan Sweeps on Facebook before the end of Comic-Con. Take a look at the explosive motion poster below:
You can practically set your computer on fire with the burning mockingjay sizzling on the Hunger Games website, where you can also count down the 247 days until the movie opens.

That is awesome
The detail in it is stunning. The steam, smoke, and the way the fire moves is sooooo well done!
Woah. Awesome.
While I am really excited for the movie, I am REALLY curious how Cinna’s fashions (particularly the fire capes) will be brought to life. If anything, this poster reminded me of that cape.
Took a long time to load, but that was pretty cool.
That poster is really cool. Very clever idea. I can’t wait to see the movie. I really hope it does the book justice.
Carrie, you took the words right out of my mouth. March 2012 can’t get here fast enough.
Wish it was showing now! I’m gonna see it 10 times!
Oh, hell yes.
My thoughts exactly!
Of the three books, The Hungar Games was the best. Catching Fire and Mockingjay were disappointing.
Catching Fire was my favorite of the books, Mockingjay wasn’t as good until they reached the Capitol.
gotta admit, I’m super excited to see this. even though I know the film makers/whoever else you want to blame are going to royally screw things up. you just can’t translate books to movies without losing some of the magic.
How the hell could you know they’re going to “royally screw up”? Speaking too soon, champ.
Or Kaitybee you can wait for the movie to actually come out and see it before you begin to bash it. Geesh.
Oh hell yea!!!!!! This will be awesome.
This poster is MIND BLOWING. I’ve never seen a mostion poster before! If the poster is THIS GOOD imagine the movie!!! THG were the best book’s i’ve ever read in my life and I’m a MASSIVE HG fan! This movie is already shaping up to be amazing, they got Suzanne Collins who wrote the the script, it’s cast PHENOMINALY, and DANNY ELFMAN is writting the score!! Speaking of the music score.. i wonder if the music at the beggining of the motion poster is a little snippet of what Danny Elfman and T-Bone Burnett are coming up with..!
Absolutely stunning!. I can’t wait for this film!!.
JUST CAN’T WAIT!!!!!
I so wish I could somehow get that in my room!!!!!!!!!!!Awesome!!The music and the poster
You can… check AMC Theatres. They will be giving away (granted smaller versions) posters.
Looks awesome. My anticipation has dwindled though.
Now this is what I call a Hunger Games poster. ‘The Mockingjay who was on Fire!’
Ummm I belive it’s “The Girl Who Was on Fire”…
I’m describing the poster.
wow i cannot wait for this. this poster looks awesome.
That poster is so cool! This movie has me excited even though its 8 months away.
