'Paranormal Activity 3' trailer: The kids are not alright

Paranormal-Activity2_320.jpg

In my experience, only good things can come from saying the words “Bloody Mary” three times, particularly if you have a hangover. But the first trailer for Paranormal Activity 3 indicates that doing so can, literally, cause hell to break loose. The clip also suggests that the third entry in the hugely successful horror franchise will be, at least in part, an origin story for the demonically-plagued Katie and Kristi.

You can watch the trailer below.

Not bad. Doesn’t look quite as scary as the first two but who knows.

That Bloody Mary thing is the reason I can’t turn on the water in the dark.

OH Jesus help me! Not another one! First one-overrated, second one-absolutely ridiculous in unrealisticness, now what, Bloody Mary? I’ll admit she’s a cool villainess but I doubt she can help these suckfests. Just my opinion but how can anyone think these are scary?

    • Les

Well it does have a couple creepy moments, the shot at the end is pretty disturbing, but they still suck for me. The ending of the first one was the only thing slightly scary. But I was hardly paying any attention at that point.

I agree with you… “suckfests” sums these movies up perfectly

  • katie

im a bit scared to watch the trailer after i saw the second trailer i couldnt sleep for days

I agree, katie — I saw the second trailer in the movie theater… as soon as I saw the baby & the dog, I was done. You can kill as many people as you want in a horror flick, but you don’t mess with babies & pets!!! lol

      • Lyndsey

HA!! My friends all look at me like I’m crazy when they kill 20 people yet I’m yelling “don’t hurt the dog”!! LOL

  • Flip

Looking forward to this! PA is the scariest movie I’ve ever seen, and PA2 was a very good prequel. PA3 looks like it won’t disappoint.

Please don’t tell me the origins of Paranormal Activity has always been about Bloody Mary… I’d much prefer Biggie Smalls.

    • Haley

      Ha! Same here. ; )

The only likeable character in the first movie was the evil demon. I think it may have been attacking them just because that boyfriend was such a giant douchebag

  • nykolus

    wow. that was …underwhelming.

  • Bloody Who?

Bloodymary, are you freaking kidding me?!?!?!?! I hope that’s like a joke and not really that started it. Didnt they already say it was some kind of deal made with a deamon for money in exchange for the first born son and that’s why it wanted the little boy?? What about that?

    • Woot

They definitely did state that… but the Bloody Mary thing may be why the girls started getting haunted (because no boy “first born son” had been born yet.) Not really sure if they will explain that.

  • BRETT

Am I in the minority? I fell asleep during the first one as I found it an absolute bore, and didn’t return for the second. Gotta hand it to them though, the shot at the end did freak me out.

  • Bloody Who?

This is as bad as when Urban Legend 3: Bloody Mary and made it about a ghost (mary) rather then a slasher and it was laaaaaammmmeeee and ruined the franchise!

    • Leo

I fell asleep too. It was overrated, nothing scary about it. The second one was just bad. Paranormal Entity is better. Not a whole lot, but better than PA and PA2.

  • Jacob

Also, I’m fairly certain this isn’t actually about Bloody Mary. It was just a coincidence that the demon appeared after the kids said it three times.

  • Woot

I liked the first one, the second one was kind of stupid. Yet they aren’t really scary in my opinion… but I think the first one was at least tense. Still I like the direction the seem to be going with these movies. Unlike Saw they are keeping a real consistency with the characters and unfolding of story (I mean Saw tried to do this somewhat… but it didn’t do it well.)

  • harry

I’ll admit the whole Bloody Mary thing freaks me out, but I blame that on our boys Sam and Dean.

    • kira

that episode still freaks me out

  • Thom

Can we have a SEQUEL instead?
