Howard Stern denies role in 'Super 8' bootleg

Howard Stern spent time on his radio show Monday morning denying culpability for a pirated copy of Super 8 that had been traced back to his show. A bootleg of the J.J. Abrams alien movie had a personalized watermark for Stern, but he claims he nor anyone from his show had anything to do with it. "I hate to have my name associated with anything like this," said Stern, who seemed chagrined that the leak might cause Paramount to stop sending him screeners. “I’m so paranoid about it that I literally watch [the screeners], I put it back in my bag and I take it [back]

. Nobody gets it. Nobody can see. I bring it right back … I don’t pass it around to anyone. Ever.”

Stern might be in the clear: A source familiar with the studio’s investigation tells EW there is no indication that anyone from the show was involved.

There is no way Howard or his organization had anything to do with this. Somebody at Paramount either dropped the ball or has intentionally targeted Howard since he has ranted about having his name on screeners in the past.

Bof, I swear I didn’t let Jackson or Lucas borrow the DVD!

      Ha! Good one.

Aces, I’m a geek gurl and love the outfits and sntgiets. Why can’t geeks have a high end New York style mag. Love the pictures, and models. Howard has a beautiful eye and Ralph has style. Anyone that can put cap America and chewie in a penthouse suite with Emma Frost is a god, good work and good job love it boys!

Ah OK – it must have some other H. Stern. Sounds to me more like the studio doesn’t want to call out Stern and risk having him use his show against them.

I think sterns copy could have been returned then takin after that.

Maybe it was the Howard Stern who married Anna Nicole Smith…

  • Ryan

Out of everything he has done in his career, THIS is what he doesn’t want his name linked to?

    • BabaBooey

Yes, idiot, you act like he’s killed someone or something, the guy talks about porn starts, especially in his early career, and everyone thinks he’s the devil. He’s much more than that, and if you actually ever listened to Howard’s show you’d hear it.

Feb02 I needed to cpsmooe a person this little note in an attempt to give thanks all over again for those pleasing strategies you’ve contributed at the moment. It had been simply amazingly generous of one to deliver unhampered just what numerous people could possibly have offered available for sale for an e book in generating some profit for his or her own stop, mostly seeing that you could have tried it if you ever considered necessary. Those ideas additionally offered like a great way to understand that other folks have a similar eagerness much like my own to determine great offer more regarding this situation. I believe there are lots of more exciting sessions ahead for those who read your site post.

Really? Sounds like a bit of revisionist history going on there, wonder when this new policy went into effect.

    • Jeff

If you listened to the show, he said he has only passes around advance copies of DVDs or tv episodes – not anything like this. These are not meant to be sent around like that.

      • Joe

Wrong, I’ve heard on the show Gary and John ask to borrow screeners before. Though I think that particular instance was a year ago or so.

  • Mark

I seriously doubt it was anyone involved with the Stern show. There is nothing to gained by it and if one had a good job working for Stern, why would they risk it?

Ultimately it is really a non issue compared to what is going on with the economy and all.

  • Mel Karmizan

Howard, you know you did it. Fess up and resign.

  • Pig Virus

    Stern, You are the M—er F—–g Anti-Christ

    • untapttalent

really? i hope you were kidding and just trying to be dramatic, but if you meant what you said then you are an idiot..

      • hahaha

you should look at the poster’s name, and re-read his comment. Anyone who knows anything about Stern will get it.

      • Ryan

Anyone who knows anything about Stern will also know that it’s Pig Vomit, not Virus.

      • Erich

Wrong, Ryan. Pig Virus was the real life program director. It was changed to Pig Vomit for the movie. DUH!

  • Timmy the cat

I saw Jackie sneak in and steal the movie….and he was the driver of the car that hit me. F Jackie.

    • Vito the Capnapper

I have Timmy the Cat. I am having sex with Timmy. I will return Timmy when he is full.

  • Huffy

Stern has a lot, and I mean a LOT, more to lose from pissing off Paramount (not to mention their parent company Viacom) than he does to gain from selling a screener so I believe him.

  • Jenn

Stern is many things, none of them I like, but even I believe him.

  • Joker

Is that old fart still alive ?

  • Jesse

I’m surprised that no one mentioned that Stern is so big on the rights of creators of (fill in the blank) to make money on their material that he seems like the least likely candidate to leak something.

  • Ranch Mubay

  • Joe Kirk

Stern, a has-been, likely endorses studio commerce that includes a bribe or two (e.g. a month’s supply of Polident). The question isn’t about piracy; I’m just curious if the curmudgeon is still on the air…?

    • gertz62

Hmm, who are you trying to kid? Stern is one of the most honest people in entertainment- to a fault- it is part of his character as a man. He is not a has-been- quite the opposite. In fact, he has kept the satellite radio in BUSINESS singlehandidly, and is relentlessly copied by hack radio douche bags around the world, especially his Sirius material. I’m so sick of all of you haters, especially those working in the biz who cannot stand that he is better on air, and makes so much more than you, yet you like his material enough to attempt to pass it off as your own. Yah, I’m calling you out. Don’t hate- create. Leave the plagiarism to the college idiots.
