On Tuesday, MTV officially announced the impending arrival of the world premiere exclusive teaser for next year’s The Hunger Games, which will air this weekend. Now, the network has followed up that announcement with a sneak peek of the sneak peek: A commercial for the trailer, which features various abstract shots of a flaming Mockingjay pin and (by my count) exactly 1.1 seconds of footage of star Jennifer Lawrence looking freaked out. Three conclusions I can draw from this footage: 1. There will be shaky handheld photography, but the overall grittiness quotient is still unclear. 2. Jennifer Lawrence has good camp hair. 3. Despite protestations to the contrary, I actually got pretty excited by this footage. Check it out below:

I’m just ready to see some action!
Same!!! The expression on Jen’s face in that small frame is PHENOMENAL. If that’s a glimpse of her acting in is movie i already feel it’ll be brilliant. We are so lucky to have her as our leading lady.
LOL. Why not give her an Oscar for that one second of footage?
Why not?
I’m actually really excited about this movie but I know I’ll just be disappointed. I love The Hunger Games though!
I don’t think there’s anyway you’ll be disappointed by this movie if you go into it with that attitude.
I hate pessimists. STFU and wait for the film before declaring you are disappointed Debbie Downer.
“You’re enjoying your day, everything’s going your way, when along comes Debbie Downer. Always there to tell you ’bout a new disease, a car accident, or killer bees. You beg her to spare you, ‘Debbie, please!’ but you can’t stop Debbie Downer!”
HEART ATTACK IS COMING I CAN FEEL IT!!!!!!!!GAAAAHHH!!! Omg If this is the way I react to a 2 SECOND glimpse of Jen as Katniss idk what i’ll do during the actual film!!
If I see five seconds of footage… I just might need to go to the emergency room.
Really, EW? This one second clip excitement is a bit much. (On the other hand, all those on set photos look phenom and have actually made me really excited. hopefully this movie will be awesome!)
Sunday Sunday Sunday!!! I won’t even be here to watch it live but as soon as i watch skipping to this part!!
Premiering the teaser on MTV has me worried. It makes it look like the advertising and the film will go more for the Twilight fanbase, when any honest Hunger Games adaptation should be rated R.
Of course they are taking the same route as Twilight… Lionsgate goes to sleep every night praying that they will have the same success with THG as Twilight had… People can make fun of the movies as much as they want, but the Twilight films always have a pretty good marketing plan.
Sean has a good point. Harry Potter had clips and trailers on MTV, too. They just want to promote it to young people.
Agreed. Any comparisons to Twilight are laughable and unjustified. The Hunger Games >>>>> Twilight.
THEY ALREADY ANNOUNCED AND RELEASED LIKE 28937429386429764276 PRESS RELEASES THAT IT’S PG13. Can we please stop this debate? They don’t want to alienate half of the fans. They want to make money.
I know exactly why that clip grainy! he capitolairs this stuff live!! so you have to be able to tell the difference between the real (HD) and what the capitol sees (grainy television) thats my theory at least
they’re so generous.
Wish it were going to be rated R
VERY EXCITED!!! i would wager that this might be one of the scenes where the hovercraft come to lift away one of the tributes when they die…
this is probablly the fire ball scene, if you look in the back corner of where they show katniss, theres fire!
This is the new Twilight. MTV locks up another tween movie to give all it’s pointless movie awards to for press about a show that does nothing but sell air time.
fail troll is fail
I can’t watch it in my “region”. Why not!?
i love the books and the movies look great. but i’m kinda afraid to see the movies bc i don’t want it to ruin the version i have in my head from the books.
I can’t see nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
