Nick Broomfield’s Sarah Palin documentary Sarah Palin: You Betcha! will be distributed by Freestyle Releasing, the company has announced. Broomfield, who directed the “expose” with Joan Churchill, raised more than $30,000 on the crowd funding site Kickstarter in three weeks to support the release, with additional funding being provided by private investors for the film’s expansion. After making its world premiere Sept. 11 at the Toronto International Film Festival, it will hit theaters in NYC and LA on Sept. 30 before rolling out to additional markets. Watch the trailer below. It chronicles Broomfield’s quest to unveil the “real” Sarah Palin, and follows the filmmaker as he battles the icy snows of Alaska in mid-winter to speak to the school friends, family, and Republican colleagues that in previous days gave their heart, soul and belief to the charismatic, charming, intoxicating ex-hockey mom. But it’s not all plain sailing. People are frightened to talk — Wasilla makes Twin Peaks look like a walk in the park. It’s a devout evangelical community — 76 churches with a population of only 6 thousand, and the Crystal meth capital of Alaska. Broomfield brings his celebrated wit and determination to cracking her story through controversial interviews and surprise encounters with Ms. Palin herself.

I see her as a thin-skinned religious zealot who uses people’s belief in Christ and their hatred of homosexuals to get tax breaks for billionaires. The President can certainly be criticized for his actions, but much of this nonsense that’s going on wasn’t created through his actions. He’s just failed to improve them. Much of the nonsense was created by the “trickle-down” theory, which would only be exacerbated by the policies of people like Palin.
You can critisize the president, but to do so is giving aid and comfort to our enemies.
If we dont criticize the president during time of war, then every president would make sure there was a war going on to avoid bad press. War is whne our leaders need to be more scrutinized then ever. Why should people keep their mouths shut while people are dying? We should wait till the body count stops and then reflect? Then it is too late.

She holds no public office, and is not running for one as far as I know. She’s served less time in office than either Jesse “The Body” Ventura or Arnold Schwarzenegger did as governors. At least they were in movies.
I’m not sure what she’s done since the 2008 election to merit being in any kind of news, much less quibbling over whether she should be on an entertainment site or a political site.

The article is about a documentary *film*, its premier, its distribution, and its subject matter. Whether or not the *film* will be unbiased has nothing to do with reporting about its existence. The synopsis wasn’t written by EW; it likely came from the filmmakers. EW reports on *films,* which I believe qualify as entertainment. If you want to say that the film is only political, fine. The article, however, is only stating that the film obtained a distributor.
Her daughter was on Dancing With The Stars, and her daughter’s ‘baby daddy’ is something of a reality celebrity. Sarah herself had her own reality show too, so I would say coverage of her is fine alongside people like Rachel from Big Brother or Ozzy from Survivor, and Kate Goslin.
The fact is that republicans are only interested in aiding and abetting corporations in the processes of enslavement and the ripping off the working-class.
I just have to ask is that really the title and if so couldn’t the writers,producers come up with a better one?

While I disagree with Chazz’s “choice” I have to say his personal level of confidence and happiness just might help any troubled young people out there. I would rather hope for that by his inclusion on DWTS than having Palin on.
