Samuel L. Jackson has signed on to reunite with director Quentin Tarantino in the auteur’s Mississippi-set, ultra-violent spaghetti Western Django Unchained, reports Reuters. Jackson will play house slave Stephen. Jamie Foxx is expected to ink a deal to play the title character, a freed slave who partners with a German dentist-turned-bounty hunter (Christoph Waltz) to rescue his wife from villainous plantation owner Calvin Candie (Leonardo DiCaprio). Jackson will begin filming his role in January after he finishes his run as Martin Luther King, Jr., in Broadway’s The Mountaintop.

Tarantino previously directed Jackson in Pulp Fiction, Jackie Brown, and Kill Bill: Vol. 2.

Samuel Jackson is playing MLK? I love him, but I really don’t see him in that role… “I have a motherf**king dream, motherf**kers!”

Is that a line from his upcoming film “Slaves on a Train” (about the dangers slaves encountered while on the Underground Railroad)?

      Too funny crispy.

I can not wait for this flick. Tarantino movies are like films these days. “Inglorious Basterds” left such an impression on me that I saw it 3 times in the theatres.

that was me for Pulp Fiction!

      • pie thrower

Pulp Fiction was a pretty cool initial experience as well.

This film is going to kick so much ass!

  • Shecky

They still let this guy make movies, even after all the hacknied crap he’s doled out? Oh well, who better to vomit forth an over-written, heavily-borrowed-from-other-people’s works cartoon than Quentin?

    • pie thrower

Yeah Shecky. I guess Quentin Tarantino can not make anything entertaining for someone of your intelligence level, like “The Smurfs.” Right?

      • Shecky

I didn’t see “The Smurfs.” Did you enjoy it? Did you see yourself in any of the characters, little man?

Jackson also narrated a couple of scenes in Tarantino’s Inglourious Basterds.

    This sounds like crap.

  • kate

Anyone else do a double take seeing Christoph Waltz’s name as a regular character and then Leonardo Dicaprio’s name as the villain? Typo? Lol

  • kerri A

OMG Leo’s new movie – cant wait!

  • Truth Be Told

After The Americans killed the assistant and Bill himself, david carradine, you’d think this italiano fraud wouldn’t try anymore antiAmerican revisionist junk on American history, but what do you know, along comes a spaghetti pukefest. My bet is they’ll target this mothereffing jackson since decaprios ship is already sunk.

Great article. I cant wait to hear more about your research tool. If it is as good as your other products, then you will have another winner. Your article pretty much summed up what I have been seeing too. Great to see some hard data.
