Leonardo DiCaprio is “the most powerful man in the world.” But will that finally get him Oscar? The new poster for J. Edgar certainly seems to emphasize one thing about Clint Eastwood’s November biopic of the former FBI director: The acting. And DiCaprio looking this intense… well, it’s a look that suits him best, right?
Click the jump to see the poster for the buzzy film (handsome cast! Homosexual undertones! Leo’s accent!), and immediately enter DiCaprio into your Oscar pools.

I think DiCaprio is a decent enough actor but he tackles roles that he’s not physically a fit for.
Kind of with you there. I think he’s a pretty good actor but sometimes his opportunities are better than his abilities. He gets a lot of good parts.
I think Leonardo will surely get a nomination for an Academy Award at least. He is incredible and he is amazing. And I think he will get it. It’s an incredible performance, just wonderful.
dude I can’t believe you’ve already seen it?! haha well I really hope he gets noninated idk about a win I saw the descendants and clooney was pretty Oscar worthy. If this pans out I’ll be excited for DiCaprio cause so far it seems he’s been pulling an “o’toole”
GAH! What the hell happened to him????????
awesome!!!
Terrible!!! He could pass for Chaz Bono’s brother.
Leo looks like Jack Nicholson as Jimmy Hoffa .
Dicaprio is a great actor and always delivers. Yes, when I heard he was playing Hoover, I was a bit baffled. But I had to remember that it’s not about who looks like the person, it’s about acting and delivering the feel or persona of the person. Leo deserved the Oscar for Blood Diamonds/theDeparted, so I don’t know if he’ll get it for this film. It seems you need a British accent to win…smh

I could not possibly love this more. I just cludon’t. You’re so right with your comments on The Departed. Frankly, I didn’t care much for it and didn’t see what all the fuss was about. Mind you I’m a classic film FREAK like, TCM is my go-to channel just like AMC used to be back before it considered Halloween 5 and american movie classic. But I digress. My point is, I’m accustomed to movies with a plot and characterization. I’m used to having to follow along, make discoveries on my own without having them spelled out for me, etc. And I still didn’t see what the big deal was.
