Hitting the ground running, The Avengers trailer scored more than 10 million iTunes downloads in 24 hours, EW has confirmed. Marvel’s superhero extravaganza broke iTunes previous record holder Transformers: Dark of the Moon, which reached 6.4 million downloads in its first day. Joss Whedon’s Serenity follow-up (starring Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Jeremy Renner, Scarlett Johansson, Samuel Jackson, and Tom Hiddleston) opens May 4, 2012.

Wohoo!! Scarlett Johansson looks like a strong, empowered and sexy Black Widow. She is an inspiration to all of us women. I love how she leaps up onto some henchman’s shoulders with her legs wrapped around his face, thrusting him down against the ground. Hahah.. freakin’ fantastic, can’t wait! Man! I feel like a woman!
You’ve posted that in every Avengers post. SJ looks like your typical geek fantasy in this movie. Nothing to be proud of.

The Avengers is also a movie for strong, sexy and empowered women like myself.
Once a burglar broke into my home when I was showering and when he came into the bathroom even though I was fully naked and soaking wet, I rammed him from behind into the wall and he dropped his gun. I punched him in the face and grabbed his hair with both hands and drove his head into a mirror. Then I kneed him in the balls and I drove my elbow into the back of his neck as he fell to the floor. I finished him off with a kick in the face with my foot, leaving him slumped.
I felt very empowered and I hope to inspire other women with my story like Scarlett Johansson will in this movie. Man! I feel like a woman!
Ok, Johanna, not that I don’t believe you, but why not grab the gun that he dropped and shoot him?
It all happened so fast but he was still standing until I kneed him and only then did he fall to the floor and was in too much pain for me to grab the gun. I didn’t need to shoot him once I grabbed the gun because he was out cold until the cops arrived.
I would say that hitting someone a few times so that they couldn’t get up is reasonable. The point is to disable them until the police arrive.

Scarjo’s character was nothing special in Iron Man 2. She came off as filler, so I don’t see why the excitement for her in this. Wow, an explosion behind her! How original.
Scrajo is the least interesting part for me. I would of choose someone better.

I agree, Rolo, Whedon’s stuff is usually boring.
Fact is, Whedon hasn’t ever made a great movie. If fans like this one it will be because of the characters and actors, not because of anything Whedon does. He’s not a visual director. He likes yappy characters.
