The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3D isn’t due to be released for another year, but Lionsgate have gotten the movie’s publicity campaign off to an early, Halloween start by releasing the first poster from the franchise reboot-sequel, which you can check out to the left and, in a larger format, below. I’m hoping that the person who came up with the tagline “Buzz. Kill.” treated themselves by taking the rest of the day off.
TCM 3D is directed by John Leussenhop (Takers) and stars Alexandra Daddario, Tania Raymonde, Scott Eastwood, Trey Songz, and Dan Yeager, who is playing the chainsaw-wielding Leatherface. The film will also feature appearances by Chainsaw franchise alumni Marilyn Burns, Gunnar Hansen, John Dugan, and Bill Moseley. “My character finds out that she isn’t really who she thought she was,” Daddario told EW earlier this year. “She’s discovering where she really came from and what she has to do with the family in the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre. It’s more of a mystery than the original in a lot of ways. It keeps you guessing.” Check out the full poster below:Â

Tagline is awesome, but it will still be crap.
Most likely. Still though, I’m curious to find out how they got Marilyn Burns for this, and to see if she’s playing Sally again.
She probably will be playing Sally since this is a direct sequel to the 1974 film.
It will be, which means America will love it.
@LOL For once I agree with you! @dee123 Yes! d we really need a remake of this? and in 3D?! hell no! why horrors latley have sucked!!
It is NOT a remake. NOT A REMAKE. It is a direct sequel to the 1974 Tobe Hoper film. Tobe Hoper served as an executive producer and has even said this is the real sequel to his original movie. It has nothing to do with the remake in anyway. Do some research before making dumb comments.
I love it.
What you said.
I wrote the tagline off at first. But I didn’t really notice the periods that separated the two words at first. Now I actually really like it. The power of punctuation at its finest!
More remake nonsense dragging down the horror genre. Didn’t we get enough of this crap from Platinum Dunes?
This is NOT A REMAKE. IT IS A DIRECT SEQUEL TO THE 1974 (THE ORIGINAL MOVIE). IT HAS NOTING TO DO WITH THE FILMS AFTER THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE (1974) NOR DOES IT HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH REMAKE OR THE REMAKE PREQUEL. IT IS A DIRECT SEQUEL TO THE 1974 TOBE HOPER FILM. TOBE HOPER IS AN EXECUTIVE PRODUCER ON THE FILM AS WELL.
2003 TXCHSW was pretty cool. Hope new one dsnt suck.
Wasn’t it just remade a few years back, and not that well either?
Great tagline. Decent imagery. Probably won’t be any good. At. All.
Looks good so far!
Not expecting this to be that good, but being the hardcore horror fan I am I’ll have to see it. The thing going for it is that if it is at least descent it will be better than expected because people aren’t going to expect a lot from.
If you’re a “hardcore horror fan,” you need to NOT see it so they will stop bastardizing our genre. only NON-horror fans will be seeing this. Only people who dislike our genre should be seeing this simply because it damages our genre.
The movie is not a remake. It is a direct sequel to the 1974 original film. It has nothing to do with the remakes. It is a sequel to the 1974 version. Tobe Hoper has even said that this is the true sequel to TCM and he served as an executive producer on the film.
Its actually not a remake at all. Its not a sequel to any of the other chainsaw sequels either. It is a sequel to the first movie 73.
Interesting post and view, hope to hear more what the future holds THANKS Great post. Probably saved thousands of hours between everybody here. For me,this clearly is a heads up on which methods to focus on to maximise my online success . I¡¯ll start concentrating on your other articles instead. Really great advice. Thanks for sharing.
its the producer of saw 3d itl have to be good
Are people still whining about remakes? Give me a break. Yeah, sure, they’ll never be as good as the originals… big deal. Have you looked at some of the “original” horror flicks as of late? They suck too, and besides, not all remakes are that bad. The Hills Have Eyes was stellar on all fronts as was The Crazies. Bottom line: if the idea of a remake makes you start bleeding big drippy tears from out of your arse then simply pass on the notion of checking it out and do whatever it is that YOU deem cool enough to do, but please, enough of the perpetual whining about remakes, prequels, etc… they’re obviously not going away.
First of this is not a remake. It is a DIRECT sequel to the 1974 film. Much like Halloween H20 is a direct sequel to Halloween 2 this is a direct sequel to the 1974 version of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. And most people who complain about remakes don’t realise that the original writers and directors are involved. Wes Craven was involved in both the hills have eyes remake and the last house on the left. Sean Cunningham director of Friday the 13th and who came up with the idea for the movie, it was involved with the remake of that film and it was actually his idea to remake Friday the 13th. Don Mancini the writer of every Chid’s Play movie including Bride of Chucky and Seed of Chucky and director of Seed of Chucky wrote and directed the remake to Child’s Play because fans told him they wanted a scary Chucky movie again.
just so you guys know this is NOT a remake, nor is it a sequel to the 2003 remake. it is a direct sequel to the 1974 original TCM. So basically just forget that the original TCM2 and TCM3 ever existed
People this is NOT a REMAKE. I REPEAT NOT A REMAKE. IT IS A SEQUEL TO THE 1974 FILM. TOBE HOPER IS INOVLVED IN THE MAKING OF THE FILM AS WELL. Y’ALL NEED TO DO YOUR RESEARCH. IT IS NOT A REMAKE, NOT A REBOOT, IT IS A SEQUEL. A SEQUEL! AND IT IS NOT A SEQUEL TO THE REMAKE. IT IS A SEQUEL TO THE 1974 FILM.
I think you proved your point..
I think it’ll be good, it has decent actors in it (exc. Trey Songz) and it aint a low budget film either
