In advance of Thursday’s release of the full Prometheus trailer, 20th Century Fox has put together a 30-second behind-the-scenes teaser for the Alien-related, partially Greg Louganis-inspired, human-origins-exploring 3-D space thriller from Ridley Scott. (Say that five times fast!) In the short cut, Scott teases “the very grand ideas and notions — the surprising things that appear to be small and yet will be enormous” in his latest film. See the clip below.
So what did we learn from this “epic” half-minute? Idris Elba will be terrified. The distant planet where the scientists are marooned is a vast, desolate place. There will be lots of floating/flying and delicate extraction of strange bags of liquid (genetic matter?) from lab canisters. Someone’s head will be fried, though probably not Michael Fassbender’s nor his ridiculous blond wig.
Prometheus — starring Fassbender, Elba, Charlize Theron, Noomi Rapace, Patrick Wilson, and Guy Pearce — hits theaters June 8. Check back Thursday for our full dissection of the official trailer.
