'Moonrise Kingdom' trailer: Wes Anderson takes on summer camp. Also: Shirtless Bill Murray!

After taking a sojourn into animation with the fantastic Fantastic Mr. Fox, director Wes Anderson has stepped back into the world of live action, specifically a New England summer camp circa 1965, in Moonrise Kingdom. The film follows a pair of 12-year-olds (Jared Gilman and Kara Hayward) who fall in love and run away, and the subsequent Wes Anderson-y panic that consumes the town, including the local sheriff (Bruce Willis), a scoutmaster (Edward Norton), and the girls’ parents (Bill Murray and Frances McDormand).

As the new trailer makes clear, Anderson, who co-wrote the film with frequent collaborator Roman Coppola, has only sharpened his distinctive visual quirkiness post-Mr. Fox — if anything, some of the film looks like Anderson was inspired by the notion of trying to make an “animated” film using live action.
