As scary concepts go, learning the alphabet has never really ranked up there with, say, being pursued by a chainsaw-wielding maniac, being attacked by a horde of hungry zombies, or being stitched together into a human centipede by a deranged surgeon. To put it another way, the ABCs are generally thought of as being more Sesame Street than Elm Street. But all that is about to change!
This September will see the release of the ABCs of Death, a new horror anthology with 26 demise-oriented chapters, each one overseen by a different director. The featured filmmakers include Ti West (The Innkeepers), Jason Eisener (Hobo with a Shotgun), Ben Wheatley (Kill List), and Nacho Vigalondo (Timecrimes).
If that isn’t enough to whet fright fans’ appetites, we are pleased to exclusively unveil the movie’s poster, which you can see to the left and in larger form below. This macabre vision was designed by Kaare Andrews, a comic book artist-writer (The Incredible Hulk, Ultimate X-Men) and filmmaker who is himself currently prepping the Cabin Fever prequel Patient X.
You can find a full list of ABCs of Death directors on the film’s facebook page.
