In 1995, director Richard Linklater released the delightful indie romance Before Sunrise, about twentysomething intellectuals Jesse (Ethan Hawke) and Celine (Julie Delpy) who spend one magical night together in Vienna before parting ways. Nine years later, in 2004, the trio reunited for Before Sunset, bringing Jesse and Celine together again, this time in Paris, for a day that culminated an ending widely regarded as one of the finest in the history of modern cinema.

As it happens, 2013 will mark nine years since Before Sunset captivated moviegoers, and according to Ethan Hawke, it will likely also mark yet another cinematic venture between Jesse and Celine. In an interview with IndieWire about his sexual thriller The Woman in the Fifth, Hawke first discussed his ongoing project with Linklater shooting a film tracing a boy’s life from 1st grade to 12th grade. “We’re also doing a follow-up to Before Sunrise and Before Sunset, so that will be fun,” added Hawke. “We’re going to shoot that this summer.”

If you’re craving more information about the film, however, you’re out of luck. Hawke didn’t comment further on details when asked where the new film would be set. “I’ve gotten into trouble, so I’m sworn to secrecy,” he told IndieWire. Though, in a separate interview with Vulture, Hawke joked that the film would be called “Before We Go Crazy.”

Delpy and Linklater could not be reached immediately for comment. When EW asked Delpy about the prospects of another Before film at Sundance last January, she said she, Hawke, and Linklater were “thinking” about one, but had yet to commit. “The second one, we only did it because we had a good set up and ideas and stuff,” she said. “I don’t think we would do it if we don’t find the right thing to say. Because it’s bad to go down from a movie that people liked. I mean, the first one, people liked it. The second one, people liked it. If the third one’s not good, then it’s not good at all. So we’re careful. We’re thinking about it, but it’s not yet official.”
