'Life of Pi' trailer: Ang Lee adapts the bestselling book about a boy and his tiger

Ang Lee’s directorial output includes period pieces, sweeping romances, a martial-arts epic, and one of the weirdest superhero movies ever made (the Freudian-subtexted, relentlessly splitscreened Hulk.) And although the filmmaker’s last couple of movies proved to be disappointing, it’s officially time to start getting your hopes up for Life of Pi, Lee’s 3-D adaptation of Yann Martel’s beloved novel. The first trailer for Pi features one beautiful color-blasted image after another: A ship sinking beneath the waves, the endless ocean, the occasional zebra. Watch below:
