Oscar host Seth MacFarlane surprises college class -- VIDEO

Last week, we wrote about Seth MacFarlane popping into a UCLA class to announce a new contest where college students could become Oscar trophy handlers at the Academy Awards.

Now we have video of his academy sneak-attack. He doesn’t talk much about the Oscars, but we already covered that in the previous story. (Along with his revelation about having a plot in mind for a future Family Guy movie.)

Instead, MacFarlane describes a little of the process that goes into the creation of his characters, such as the megalomaniacal toddler Stewie, and describes his stuffed-bear blockbuster Ted as a “Christmas tree”-like premise on which to hang a lot of jokes.

He expressed some nerves before his substitute teacher gig. “They’ll be excited about Family Guy at first, and then they’ll realize this is just a big f–king nerd,” he says in the video.

The full classroom presentation will air on MTVu on Monday.
