Oscar contenders invite you to go dashing through the snow -- SONG

The Academy has taken a slight break from golden statues to sing a little about silver bells.

As we near the Christmas holiday, Hollywood’s most prestigious filmmaking body invited attendees at the recent Governors Awards to sing a familiar little carol.

Anyway, you’ll probably recognize most of them, but here’s the rundown just in case.

That’s Oscar host Seth MacFarlane, doing the Stewie voice from Family Guy, kicking things off. Then we have 9-year-old Beasts of the Southern Wild star Quvenzhané Wallis. Deadpanning John Krasinski is a hopeful this year for his screenplay to Promised Land, and Pixar chief John Lasseter (sporting a Santa hat) joins the fun with his wife, Nancy.

This is 40‘s Judd Apatow and Leslie Mann kind of bicker their way through a few verses. Then comes Brave director Mark Andrews and producer Katherine Sarafian, followed by actress Virginia Madsen.

Flight director Robert Zemeckis is a good sport about it. (He wouldn’t want to lose his seat on The Polar Express, now would he?)

The kid is Tom Holland, making a major breakthrough in The Impossible this year.

It’s a fun video and you have to admire the spirit — even if the performances aren’t necessarily going to win, uh, best song.
