Somewhere over the rainbow, there’s the sounds of pop superstar and American Idol judge Mariah Carey.
Upcoming Disney movie Oz The Great and Powerful‘s closing credits will feature a song sung and co-written by Carey called “Almost Home.”
The track will be released as a single by Carey’s label, Island Def Jam, on Feb. 19. Carey will also appear in a music video for the song, to be directed by David LaChapelle, who directed the singer’s 2001 video for “Loverboy.”
“‘Almost Home’ has a message that works beautifully with the film,” Carey said in a statement. “It’s a feel-good record; it gives you the feeling of reaching your home and being with people that you love.”
Oz The Great and Powerful is an origin story about L. Frank Baum’s wizard character of The Wizard of Oz. The film hits theaters on March 8.
