Nancy Meyers to make Britain-set romantic comedy

The woman who gave us What Women Want has another romantic comedy on the horizon. Nancy Meyers has closed a deal to make her next film with Sony Pictures Entertainment, the studio announced Monday.

Meyers is set to direct and produce the untitled film. She also rewrote the screenplay, which was originally written by the duo behind (500) Days of Summer, Scott Neustadter and Michael Weber.

Here’s the description Sony provided for the film:

The life of an American young woman gets turned upside down when she begins dating a very unlikely young man. The complexities that follow are bigger than both of them. The comedy is set entirely in the UK, and the film will have an all-British cast with the exception of the female lead.

This won’t be the first time Meyers is making a movie about what happens when American and British culture collide: She also directed the Lindsay Lohan-starring Parent Trap remake and 2006’s The Holiday.

Which Brits would you like to see gathered for this film? It’s never too early to start casting wish lists, right?
