Terry Gilliam’s The Zero Theorem, which stars Christoph Waltz as Qohen, an eccentric and reclusive computer hacker who is “plagued with existential angst,” will finally arrive in the United States in limited theatrical release in September. This week, a new U.S. trailer debuted online.
As the trailer indicates, Qohen spends most of his time in isolation; that’s because he’s hard at work on a mysterious project assigned to him by Management (Matt Damon) aimed at finding the meaning of life (or lack thereof). Mélanie Thierry, David Thewlis, and Tilda Swinton also star.
The film debuted in September 2013 at the Venice Film Festival, and has had a staggered release in Europe and Asia. The film will also be available on iTunes on August 19.
