Shailene Woodley talks 'Allegiant' split decision: 'That’s another year of kicking ass'

Big news concerning post-dystopian Chicago came out last week: Allegiant, the final book in Veronica Roth’s Divergent trilogy, will be split into two movies.

At the MTV Movie Awards Sunday, EW caught up with Shailene Woodley to ask how she feels about the decision to make four Divergent films. “I just heard that as well,” Woodley said. “I am excited, but my very first thought, if I’m being honest was, ‘Okay. All right. That’s another year of kicking ass. Another year devoted to this character.’ But that’s all right, because I am honored to be Tris, and it is exciting. Divergent was a very fun film to make, and I worked with some great people. It is also really exciting that just after coming off promoting this one, we start filming the next one in like a month. It will be nice to get into it.” READ FULL STORY

'The Amazing Spider-Man 2' at the MTV Movie Awards: Electro versus Spider-Man

The only problem was — Garfield had it on his computer, but he forgot his password. Luckily, they called in the Geek Squad.

Guess who moonlights as a computer technician for extra cash? Conan O’Brien, of course. He showed up to help Garfield remember his password (“Harry Styles Makes Me Smile”).

MTV Movie Awards: Director Troy Miller explains how Conan O'Brien scored those 50 cameos for the opener -- EXCLUSIVE

When you’re hosting the MTV Movie Awards and promise viewers “The Biggest One You’ll Ever See,” opening with any old been-there-done-that monologue is no longer an option. As you’ve now seen, O’Brien managed to pull off the feat. But he didn’t do it alone. Director Troy Miller tells EW how MTV assembled this “whirlwind of a celebrity-fest” (full list at bottom), which included appearances by Taylor Swift, Ice Cube, Lupita N’yongo, Andy Samberg, Skrillex, Russell Crowe and the Noah cast, Mindy Kaling, Martin Scorsese, the Big Bang Theory gang, Adam Sandler, and even Grumpy Cat.

“It really shows kind of a fun Hollywood community that you don’t normally see unless you’re on a red carpet. It’s the kind of fun you get a sense of [in] the first 10 rows of an awards show,” says Miller, who adds, “It’s a very cinematic opening.”
