Casting Net: Christian Bale in early talks to play Moses; Plus, Vincent D'Onofrio, Greg Kinnear, more

• Christian Bale may be joining a long line of Moseses, a list that includes Sir Ben Kingsley, Mel Brooks, Burt Lancaster, and Charlton Heston. According to a report, Ridley Scott is developing the Fox Moses movie Exodus, which is currently undergoing a rewrite by Moneyball co-writer Steve Zaillian. Bale is in very early talks to star. Scott hopes to begin work on the film as soon as he wraps The Counselor with Brad Pitt. Warner Bros. also has a Moses project in the works – Steven Spielberg was attached to direct Gods And Kings but recently dropped out of the project. They’re reportedly trying to get Ang Lee to sign on as a replacement. [Deadline]

• Vincent D’Onofrio, who will always be Dawson from Adventures in Babysitting to us, is set to play Robert Downey Jr.’s brother in David Dobkin‘s The Judge. We reported earlier this week that Robert Duvall had signed on to play their father. D’Onofrio has a slew of projects in the works including the cracked-out-but-still-awesome-sounding Pawn Shop Chronicles with Norman Reedus, Elijah Wood, Paul Walker, and Ashlee Simpson. [THR]

• Greg Kinnear (Little Miss Sunshine) and Josh Lawson (The Campaign) have joined the star-studded cast of Anchorman: The Legend Continues. There’s no word yet on what their roles might be, but we can probably assume that Kinnear will take the anchor’s desk once more. Anyone else hope he’s going to poke fun at his past life on Talk Soup? [Deadline]

• Underworld franchise star Kate Beckinsale is in talks to join Brad Anderson‘s (The Call) Eliza Graves, an adaptation of Edgar Allan Poe’s The System of Doctor Tarr and Professor Fether. [THR]

Casting Net: Harrison Ford reported to join 'Anchorman' sequel; Plus a new lead for Marvin Gaye biopic, Rebecca Hall, and more

• Harrison Ford is set to play another seasoned, Tom Brokaw-esque newscaster, according to a THR report. Thankfully he’ll bring his curmudgeonly charm to Anchorman: The Legend Continues, and not a Morning Glory sequel. Things had been somewhat quiet for Ford since 2011′s Cowboys and Aliens, but he’s been ramping up his on-screen presence lately with roles in the upcoming Jackie Robinson biopic 42 and the highly anticipated Ender’s Game adaptation. [THR]

EW reported in December that Lenny Kravitz had signed on to star in the Julien Temple-directed Marvin Gaye biopic Sexual Healing, but it seems the tides have changed. Kravitz was reportedly asked to drop out by Gaye’s son, Marvin Gaye III, and Monday it was reported that Law & Order alum Jesse L. Martin would step in to play the music legend. [Deadline]

Is John C. Reilly going to be in 'Anchorman 2'? Maybe! (Or not!)

John C. Reilly is maybe going to be in the Anchorman sequel, Anchorman: The Legend Continues. Or not.

The film, which is in production, has been tight-lipped about most details regarding its plot and full cast — but it did put out a casting call for a John C. Reilly lookalike, leading to Internet speculation that Reilly would be reuniting with his Step Brothers co-star alongside already-booked stars Kristen Wiig, Christina Applegate, Steve Carell, and Paul Rudd.

Reps for the film, however, will only confirm that they were indeed looking for a lookalike, saying in a statement, “We were looking for a stand-in for lighting purposes who looks like John C. Reilly. We always demand that every stand-in looks like John C. Reilly.” READ FULL STORY

Casting Net: Megan Fox reunites with Michael Bay; Plus Adam Sandler and James Marsden

• It’s a Transformers reunion: Megan Fox is joining Michael Bay‘s TMNT reboot. Bay, who is producing the movie, announced the news on his blog with the simple, one-sentence post, “TMNT: we are bringing Megan Fox back into the family!” EW has confirmed that Fox will play April O’Neil, the Turtles’ human friend, and that the movie is set to start shooting this spring. Fox has spoken publicly about her on-set friction with Bay – she once said the blockbuster mastermind is “like Hitler on his sets” – but now, lucky for Michelangelo and co. (or not so lucky, depending on whom you ask), it looks like Fox and Bay have patched things up. [Michaelbay.com]

• Adam Sandler is switching up his schedule. His comic Western Ridiculous 6 will be delayed as a result of Sandler signing on to star in an untitled romantic comedy about a blended family. Drew Barrymore is being considered for the female lead. The film is being developed at Warner Bros., and will now also be produced by Sandler’s company, Happy Madison. [Variety, Deadline]
