CinemaScore launches new website

Market research firm CinemaScore, which has had its movie grades published by Entertainment Weekly since 1990, recently launched a website — CinemaScore.com — that seeks to serve both professionals and public users.

CinemaScore, which has become an industry standard, polls moviegoers from a selection theaters across the United States and uses a unique algorithm to calculate a grade, or CinemaScore, for each film. It’s big news when a film like The Help garners a rare “A+” grade, and it’s equally buzzy when one like The Devil Inside scores an “F.”

Now, public visitors can view grades for movies from the past few months, while CinemaScore subscribers, who are being given access to the site gradually, can see detailed CinemaScore reports from the company’s database of recent films.
