Gillian Jacobs talks about her 'butt-demon' horror-comedy 'Bad Milo!'

In the new comedy-horror film Bad Milo! Gillian Jacobs plays the wife of a stressed-out white collar drone (Ken Marino) who discovers he has a demon living in his butt. Yes, you read that right — she spells her first name with a “g.” (Ha! But, seriously, that is who she plays in the film.)

So, what was the point in the Bad Milo! shoot when the Community star most thought, “I bet Dame Judi Dench has never had to do this”? “Throwing dildos at an ass-demon puppet,” laughs Jacobs. “And we shot in a basement of a church, which just added a whole other level of wrong.”

Directed and cowritten by first-time filmmaker Jacob Vaughan, Bad MIlo! is released today in select cinemas and is also available to view via iTunes and VOD. In addition to Jacobs and Marino, the movie stars Patrick Warburton, Steve Zissis, Mary Kay Place, Stephen Root, Kumail Nanjiani, and Big Lebowski nihilist Peter Stormare.

Below, Jacobs talks more about Bad MIlo! while gamely ignoring the egregious amount of times your writer uses the phrase “butt-demon” in the course of our conversation

'Veronica Mars': Vinnie Van Lowe reunites with Veronica -- EXCLUSIVE PHOTO

Vincent Van Lowe has returned!

In another exclusive photo from Warner Bros., Ken Marino — who plays the antagonistic private investigator Vinnie Van Lowe in Veronica Mars — reunites with Kristen Bell on the Santa Monica Pier set of the film.

Last we saw of Vinnie, he was running against Keith Mars (Enrico Colantoni) for sheriff of Neptune. But judging by Marino’s outfit here, it doesn’t look like he got the job.

Mars began filming in Los Angeles in June, after creator Rob Thomas raised over $5 million for production on Kickstarter.

Along with Marino, other fan favorites are set to return, including Jason Dohring (Logan), Percy Daggs II (Wallace), Tina Majorino (Mac), and more.

Casting Net: Keira Knightley heads to 1920s New York; Plus, Elizabeth Banks joins Beach Boys biopic, Martin Starr meets 'Veronica Mars,' more

• Keira Knightley (Anna Karenina) is attached to produce and star in an adaptation of Suzanne Rindell’s The Other Typist for Fox Searchlight. Set in 1923, the story follows Rose, a typist for the New York City Police Department. She’s old-fashioned and set in her ways till she befriends the new woman in the office, Odalie, who is glamorous and modern and loves to have fun at speakeasies. But Rose gets a little obsessed, hence the comparisons to The Talented Mr. Ripley. There’s no director attached yet. Knightley will be appearing next alongside Chris Pine in Kenneth Branagh’s Jack Ryan (in theaters December 25), and with Mark Ruffalo and Adam Levine in Can a Song Save Your Life. [THR]

Ken Marino and wife to adapt 'Go the F-k to Sleep'

Once upon a time a cutely illustrated, explicitly written “children’s book for adults” burst onto the scene. Adam Mansbach’s ode to parents who can’t get their children to, well, go the f–k to sleep, was a bestseller before it was even available (under the “advice” category on the New York Times list).

We’ve heard Samuel L. Jackson read it. Werner Herzog, too. People complained. We responded. And now, the book that started as a funny Facebook post is going to be a feature film for Fox.
