Magnolia Pictures to distribute Lars von Trier's 'Nymphomaniac'

Thanks to Magnolia Pictures, it won’t be long before American audiences can finally see Shia LaBeouf have real sex on camera. (The sacrifices he’ll make for his art!)

The distributor has announced that it has secured the U.S. rights to Nymphomaniac, a “wild and poetic story” about one woman’s erotic journey from Melancholia director Lars von Trier. The deal was settled after Magnolia recently caught a screening of footage from the film in Berlin.

“After the tremendous and never predictable experience of distributing Melancholia, we couldn’t be more excited to be working with Mr. von Trier again,” Magnolia President Eamonn Bowles said in a statement. “He’s such an exciting and talented filmmaker—it’s an honor and a thrill to be associated with his world.”
