'Snow White and the Huntsman' clips: Heigh-ho, heigh-ho, it's off to fight we go! -- VIDEO

Kristen Stewart, who has been mostly silent in the first several Huntsman trailers, finally finds her voice in seven new Snow White and the Huntsman clips released by Universal. And boy is it booming. The Twilight star shows off her pipes in a screaming match with a troll, a steely-eyed showdown with Charlize Theron’s Evil Queen, and more. Still, looking at the tender moment she shares with that troll, it’s hard not to recall Robert Pattinson’s awkward gaze on the other side.

The septet of sneak peeks is chockablock with action, conflict, and special effects — including the very special effect Snow has on her dwarf mantourage and the Huntsman (Chris Hemsworth). Also, one clip offers up an introduction to the Prince (Sam Claflin), who is less Charming than you might imagine. Watch below. READ FULL STORY »

'Hunger Games,' 'Bridesmaids' top MTV Movie Award nominees

This year’s MTV Movie Awards will be a showdown between a bevy of bridesmaids and a cast of killer kids.

“Bridesmaids” and “The Hunger Games” top nominees at MTV’s annual film honors with eight nods apiece, including bids for best cast, breakthrough performance and movie of the year. Rounding out the best-picture contenders are “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2,” ”The Help” And “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn-Part 1.”

MTV announced nominees Monday in 12 categories, including six new ones such as “best on-screen dirtbag” and “best gut-wrenching performance.” Also new this year: Nominees were selected by a panel of actors, producers, agents and industry tastemakers instead of via online vote from the public.

Fans can still choose the winners, though. Voting begins online Tuesday at 8 a.m. Eastern time.

The 21st annual MTV Movie Awards will be presented June 3 at the Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal City and broadcast live on MTV.

As we inch closer to Nov. 16, Summit is offering up more glimpses of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn–Part 2. In two newly released photos, we see Bella (Kristen Stewart) and Edward (Robert Pattinson) in a semi-embrace.

As you can see, left, Bella is rocking new, blood-red vamp eyes, after her painful transition in Part 1. Though spending your honeymoon on the brink of death is no way to start a marriage, readers of Stephenie Meyer’s book will know there’s some fun in store for the newlyweds.

As for Jacob (Taylor Lautner)…well…he doesn’t seem to be having a quite such a good time. Check out the second photo below!

'The Host' poster: Saoirse Ronan's brain aliens give her eye trouble

The final Twilight film will be hitting theaters in November and I know what you guys are thinking: “How will EW possibly survive without a Stephenie Meyer property to write about?” It’s sweet of you to worry, but you needn’t — the movie version of The Host, Meyer’s only novel not about bedazzled bloodsuckers, isn’t coming out for another year. So there’s still time! The film’s first poster, featuring star Saoirse Ronan with some sort of severe corneal damage, has just hit the web – check it out below.

'Fifty Shades of Grey': E L James explains Anastasia's traces of Bella Swan

Anastasia Steele, half of the hot couple in E L James’s runaway erotic bestseller Fifty Shades of Grey, bites her lip a lot. The habit may remind a lot of readers of what some call the Kristen Stewart Lip Bite, so much a part of the character of Bella Swan in the movie adaptations of the Twilight saga. Coincidence? James, who gave her first American interview exclusively to Entertainment Weekly, describes herself as a Twihard who began her mid-life literary career after devouring Stephenie Meyer’s Twilight trilogy. The married mother of two teenage sons posted an early version of the current novel on a Twilight fan fiction website under the title Master of the Universe; at the time, she says, she still called her characters Bella and Edward. “You’ll find a lot of erotic stories about Edward on [those sites],” she says.

So is Ana’s mannerism left over from Fifty’s first online incarnation? READ FULL STORY »

'Breaking Dawn -- Part 2' trailer teaser is in! -- VIDEO

Who ever thought the words, “We’re the same temperature now” could sound so sexy? The teaser for the trailer for Breaking Dawn — Part 2 is here just days before the full trailer premieres in front of The Hunger Games this weekend. Though clocking in at only a meager ten seconds, the teaser gives us plenty to talk about: A blurred Bella speeding through the woods, a flash of Jacob (wearing a form-fitting sweater, no less) and that dazzling wedding ring. Not so surprisingly missing? A glimpse of newly-turned vampire Bella’s face in all its supernatural glory. Watch the teaser after the jump: READ FULL STORY »

'The Hunger Games' versus 'Twilight': How does the premiere fandemonium stack up?

hunger-games-premiere

It is far too easy to lump the Twilight franchise and The Hunger Games trilogy in the same gooey pile of frenetic teen appeal, romance, and endless merchandising opportunities.

It’s partly because it’s rare these days for one to be mentioned without the other and because, quite frankly, they do have a lot in common — starting with the unparalleled fan devotion. Both started with popular young-adult best-sellers that revolve around a tumultuous love triangle and the threat of early death thanks to some sort of fantastic, grotesque, inconceivable circumstances. The movie adaptations are filled with hot young things whose every move and comment after casting is closely observed, reported, and debated at water coolers, in high school hallways, through social networking sites, and on an extensive web of fan blogs. The films are promoted with T-shirt lines, dolls, and mall tours. Musicians clamor to be included on what will surely be a chart-topping soundtrack that even hipsters have to admit they browse on iTunes. Heck, now both movies are even brought to you by the same studio (Hunger Games distributor Lionsgate bought Twilight home Summit earlier this year).

Having covered all four Twilight premieres for EW and having slightly worse hearing to show for it, I assumed I was in for a very similar night — loud, long, and concerned about future generations thanks to the lewd signage — when I took the Hunger Games assignment. The banal details leading up to premiere day seemed suspiciously similar: Credentials had to be requested weeks in advance, getting into an early screening was harder than killing a Career Tribute, the event would be held at Nokia Theatre (the site of the last two Twilight premieres), and the press call time was four hours earlier than Jennifer Lawrence would even contemplate stepping on the carpet.

Once I arrived, though, the atmosphere felt different. The word that immediately popped into my head: calmer. READ FULL STORY »
