Strap on the fart helmets and lace up the bottle-rocket rollerskates: Johnny Knoxville and the rest of the Jackass crew are about to let loose with another round of ridiculosity — this time, online. Instead of getting a theatrical release, Jackass 2.5 is debuting on the Web, courtesy of MTV New Media, Paramount Pictures Digital Entertainment, and Blockbuster, and can be streamed for free at blockbuster.jackassworld.com from Dec. 19 to 31, while Jackassworld.com will serve as the official Jackass hub and offer original tomfoolery. Billed as the “first-ever studio-backed feature to be streamed in its entirety online,” Jackass 2.5 is 64 minutes in length and features never-before-seen stunts from the Jackass 2 shoot, plus some new material. The film’s opening bit is an homage to Patton‘s flag scene (and we use that term loosely): Knoxville is dressed as the General while the other guys are barebottomed; crotch traumas ensue. Another scene involves powder, fireplace bellows, and someone’s rear end. For those who would prefer to enjoy their Steve-O stupidity in a more old-fashioned way, the 2.5 DVD hits stores on Dec. 26 with an extra 45 minutes of unreleased material, making for one heckuva Christmas hangover.
