Documentaries about tastemakers are in fashion. And none is hotter these days than The September Issue, a gimlet-eyed look at luxurious Vogue magazine and its influential, legendarily icy editor-in-chief, Anna Wintour. Join Owen and me for a little chat.

Great movie. I’m glad it’s getting more exposure by the day. Oscars, take note!
I loved this movie, and agree with Owen – I think Wintour came off as a rather sympathetic character. She did not appear in the least bit “scary,” she came off as a woman with exceptional decision-making abilities who always kept the destination in front of her and was less concerned with who’s feathers got ruffled during the journey just like any successful, high-powered executive. The fact that this executive happens to be wearing a Chanel dress really has much less to do with it than people might want to think.
