Amiable fill someone in on and this mail helped me alot in my college assignement. Gratefulness you on your information.
Great article, I don’t know about that woman being as strong as a man thing though. I think the greater fear in that is being attacked right when you’re at your most vulnerable. Of course, I’m saying this from a woman’s perspective.
I watched Psycho for the first time last year and it seriously scared me – as in it left me scarred for days. Later, I had to watch it in English class for our Gothicism unit. While I didn’t find it scary, it was still very suspenseful and if anything, I found that I could appreciate it more. However, almost no one in my class, as far as I could tell, liked it (though I think that those who saw it before like I did enjoyed it). People complained, of course, about the cheap special effects and the slightly cliched plot, mostly the part when she went into the basement. Although I wasn’t surprised, the fact that no one seemed able to appreciate Psycho depressed me a little. Also, I still can’t believe Anthony Perkins did not get an Oscar nomination – or, preferably, a win – for his phenomenal work here.
I think your take on the shower scene may say more about you than about “Psycho.”
I was 18 and I slept with my parents for the entire summer. I couldn’t take a shower for months without shaking. It made me sick with fear that took a very long time to erase. Years later, as an adult, it didn’t scare me as much. But as a kid, the shock of the murders put me in a very bad place.
Owen, your blogs are so great you should collect them and publish them in a volume.
Terrific work! This is the type of information that should be shared around the web. Shame on the search engines for not positioning this post higher!
sorry but no, I cannot allow you to say that David Byrne is as lame as the current collegial music icon Dave Matthews. Come ON. And before people start attacking me, I know that it is not the intention of that sentence to create a lesser significance of Talking Heads.
I do think PSYCHO is a great film.
My Favorite moment is when Marion
Crane stops her car at a red light
before leaving town and sees her
boss. The boss’ reaction to her-she’s supposed to be sick and in bed-is very unsettling.Very creey.

One adjective that defines Simon Wilby is smart. He is the CEO of Smart Power, Inc. He developed “The Smart One,” a revolutionary lithium battery powered by solar for cell phones and “The Smart Juice” which is energy with the same principle for lap tops.
