Comic-Con: 'Scott Pilgrim' rules Hall H

Now that’s the way to run a panel. Moderated by director Edgar Wright himself, Universal’s Scott Pilgrim vs. The World panel killed today in Hall H. Not only did Wright bring out every member of the cast, with the exception of Chris Evans who’s off filming Captain America. But he even had his Shaun of the Dead/Hot Fuzz stars Nick Frost and Simon Pegg run on stage until he announced that they weren’t in the movie, and then they ran off. The highlight, of course, was star Michael Cera who conducted the entire panel while in a padded Capt. America suit. “Few people know this but Michael auditioned for the part of Steve Rodgers,” said Wright. “He got down to the last 500.” And then as if it were possible to make things better, Wright invited all of Hall H to follow him to a movie theater to see the entire movie. Nice!

I would have loved to have been there. This movie is driving me insane. On one hand, I love Edgar Wright. On the other hand, the trailers look so bad and I can’t stand Michael Cera. This movie is going to either be the greatest thing ever or the worst.

if you think the trailer looks bad then you have no idea who or what Scott Pilgrim is and should probly go figure it out before going to see the movie

Watch the international trailer. It’s the best one for letting you know what the movie is about.

Amazing books + Edgar Wright should = one phenomenal movie.

Edgar Wright is enough to get me to watch this movie. It looks like a cross between Superbad and Mortal Kombat which sounds like a unique combination. And if it turns out that it does suck, I can always leave early and sneak over and watch the final half of Inception again.

Man, that sounds like an awesome panel. Waiting for my copy of Scott Pilgrim’s Finest Hour to get here; absolutely in love with the books. Looks like the film will be a great adaptation, even though Cera doesn’t seem like an ideal Pilgrim.

The trailer makes it look annoying as hell, whether it’s close to the source material or not…

A Scott Pilgrim panel without Bryan Lee O’Malley, the creator of the comic book? That, quite simply, is not cool. Without him, none of those other people would even be sitting on that stage.

He was there. This is a bad synopsis. And the entire Hall H did not go to the screening. Only people with certain buttons.

      Hi Julie,
Bryan was actually the first guy introduced on stage and was there throughout/answered some questions. He was also there at the screening up in the balcony with the cast. I guess Nicole must have accidently missed that. Anyway, it was a fun panel, everyone did well and the movie rocked, I just loved it !
